Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaThe room is incredibly small and the breakfast could use some more variety. Overall, its a nice hotel but its quite pricey for what it offers.
Great location, just a few minutes away from Colosseum and the staff was really friendly and helpful. We loved the rooftop balcony!

MaltaWe cannot say that we didn’t like it … but breakfast could have been more varied. However we cannot complain since there was a bit of everything… cereal, bread, boiled eggs, toast and jam, pastries and cake. Given that Italy is known for its coffee, it could have been better.
Its location is great especially when it comes to using public transport…metro, tram or bus. The staff was nice and recommended good restaurants nearby.

United KingdomThe room was quite small - about enough to walk around the bed. This was fine for us as we were out most of the time, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in the room.
A friendly hotel in a good location, with good breakfast and a nice rooftop terrace. Room was clean.

GermanyThis is a very small thing and a matter of opinion, but I think I'd prefer if the doors used programmable key cards instead of a real key. Currently, you get one key for the room, which you have to leave at the reception when going out. I know that it's not an uncommon thing to do it this way and it does feel nicely old-school, in a way. But I personally always feel a bit awkward when I go out and come back several times in a short while, even though the very nice staff never gave me any indication that it bothered them. The current system also makes it a tad less convenient to go out separately, since there's only one key. It would be nice if the room could be accessed independently by the inhabitants. But those feel like very nitpicky things to me and other people might feel very differently about it.
The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Our room had a little balcony looking out on the street, which made for a great atmosphere for the times that we decided to eat in our room. There's also a cozy rooftop terrace open to everyone. Our room also had a pretty big bathtub which could be a huge plus depending on your preferences. I certainly found it very convenient to cool off my feet after walking a lot. The location in general is very convenient as the next subway station is only a few minutes away, allowing you to reach any number of sights quickly. The colosseum can also be reached on foot easily, after a walk of about 15-20 minutes. The area directly around the hotel is pretty quiet as it's located in a side street in a residential area, but you can walk in any direction from the hotel and reach several good restaurants within 5 minutes. I can say I will gladly come back here the next time I'm in Rome
