Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Germanywe had to pay an additional 20 EUR for parking, which made the whole a very expensive affair; the price is definitely too high for this room + breakfast. The room itself was excellent, the building is run down and the cappuccino on Sunday morning was of really poor quality
The room was exceptional, the location was exceptional, Mantua is a very beautiful and lively city (at least the old town)

United States of AmericaAir conditioning was not the best, but we opened the windows later at night and the room cooled off right away.
Staying here is literally staying in a palace, the room was gigantic with a fabulous view of the square below.

ItalyFor the amount paid the only negative is having to go to a cafe for breakfast. It was a very pleasant cafe though.

DenmarkWe could have used a couple more chairs; one of the two was too low for the table. As in so many hotels, we missed some piece of furniture or another simple support to lay out the open suitcases, it was impractical to put them on the floor. But it was nice that there were large built-in closets on each side of the bed, his and hers. Area closed for traffic, and we came from another bridge than the directions given from owner. I think we should just have followed gps.
very large room with windows to the central square across from Bishop's Palace. Very quiet place closed for traffic, so we could even sleep with open windows. With closed soundproof windows it was completely quiet. Large bed with luxury sheets. Large bathroom. Nice wooden floors. Tea and coffee. Safe Parking possible in the courtyard. Italian Breakfast in the neighbor bars. There is no reception, but we could call the host.

United KingdomThis is not a hotel. There is no reception, lounge space, restaurant or bar. The photos lead you to believe there will be common areas in which to hang out. However, what you get is a suite, ours was on the ground floor so suffered from noisy people outside most noticeable in the evening. (Only one key for two people). Ours had a mezzanine area with the bed and a toilet. Downstairs was the shower room, dining area and sofa seating area. The space is lovely albeit slightly dark because the ceilings are high.) There was a small kitchen that came with kettle and coffee machine and a small refrigerator. It is stocked with water, coffee capsules and tea. There where enough cups and glassware for two people but no washing up liquid so couldn’t clean our cups between servings. There was no corkscrew or really any plates so as the weather was atrocious for two days we were stuck inside and drank tea out of dirty cups between braving the rain to go out for meals. Breakfast is in the cafe next door. It includes a coffee, pastry, yogurt and a very nice glass of orange juice. NB: on arrival you have to ring the owner to come and meet you to let you in the gate.
Fantastic location across from the Palace. Close to restaurants and cafes. Only a 15-20 minute walk from the station. If you want to stay in a former palace this is the place for you.

United States of AmericaI did not like the lack of "reception" or someone I could ask questions to about what I should see etc. There is no communal room...you go from outside to your room. Which is fine but I sometimes like to get some insight. There is really no "breakfast" ...it's an Italian breakfast. A coffee and a Brioche. I didn't mind it but when I know I am going to be out and about all day I prefer a little protein with my "breakfast". Also...its actually at the cafe next door...not on premise. The Proprietor seemed disinterested in me even though I am a customer. Seemed rushed and bored showing me how to get in and out of the building etc. Maybe hire someone who enjoys people?
Loved the location.
