Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaUpon arrival we were told the restaurant was fully booked for the weekend, but as requested they had made a reservation for us that evening. After freshening up we attended the restaurant to be met by a rather unwelcoming lead server, who was not advised of our reservation and seemed quite put out by our arrival, even though the restaurant wasn’t full and not near closing time. The food was tasty but this person didn’t give a hospitable first impression. I say that particularly as another review I read referred to her as having an off day. Like the other hotel guests the following day we made alternative arrangements because they had essentially closed the restaurant because they were hosting a wedding. On our return however we noticed that a tour group of approximately 10 had been accommodated in the restaurant. The Sunday the restaurant was closed for the night. Our experience was a little disappointing and feel the overall service had declined over the years with a change of management
The location, we had stayed at this hotel many years ago and thought it would be a nice location to return.

Location. Delightful room, with balcony. Easy to get to Venice central, Murano, Burano. Lido a much more relaxed and less bustling area.

BrazilWe often go for the biennial and with the ferry to Giardini and Arsenale still very close. However if you want to go to the Venice center, where main touristic things are it can be a little far.
That’s the second time we stay at the villa Mabapa. We love the facilities and the hotel location. Lido is a great and way quieter place to stay. The room is always great and comfortable. Breakfast definitely improved from two years ago.

United KingdomThe only improvements I would make is reduce the bar/restaurant prices for residents and use less plastic for the breakfast buffet.
Giulio was fantastic and welcoming to both me and my father when we checked in, providing great local knowledge of Venice and what we could do in our short time. The room was a good size and the layout optimised the space, spotlessly clean.

United KingdomMore fresh prepared fruit at breakfast would have been welcome.
The Lido is a peaceful alternative to staying in Venice itself. Villa Mabapa is situated facing the lagoon and looking across to Venice. I had requested a room with a balcony as it was a special wedding anniversary trip and my request was fulfilled. The bedroom itself was fairly small but the balcony was a bonus as it was very large with a circular dining table and 3 chairs. There was good wardrobe space in the bedroom with a safe, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. There was no walk in shower cubicle, the shower was over the bath which may be a problem with people who have mobility issues. The hotel itself is a beautiful building tastefully furnished in a traditional style. The breakfast room is light and airy and the choice of food is mostly continental. No cooked food apart from hard boiled or scrambled. eggs The staff at the hotel are all very helpful. On arrival Guillio checked us in and was so informative and eager to answer any questions we had. He told us that our stay included a free water taxi across to the island of Murano with a free guided tour and demonstration of glass blowing at one of the main factories. We took up this offer one morning and had a wonderful experience as there were only the two of us so it felt like a personalised tour! Afterwards you make your own way back to Lido via vaparetto. The peaceful setting makes sitting out in the garden terrace at the front of the hotel very pleasant. The outside bar opens every day at 4pm so it is nice and shady to have a pre evening drink. We didnt eat at the hotel in the evening but people we spoke to say the food was good.

SlovakiaThe room we were in was quite dated and not one that was on the photos, the bathroom wasn't spotless and could have been cleaned more thoroughly.
Great location on the beach front, beaches within walkable distance (10min free beach, 20 min dog beach), very helpful staff who were always available for advice and assistance (restaurant reservations for example etc.). Breakfast had some gluten-free options.

IrelandThe price of drinks was very expensive. The bathrooms could do with an update and while the sheets and towels were changed daily, there was a film of dust on the items in the room.
The location was terrific, the breakfasts were really good, the garden was a lovely facility to have.

ChinaSome of the amenities in the room have a certain age to them. The door handle of the bathroom is not ergonomically designed, it is not easy to lock and the angle of opening makes it difficult to get out.
This hotel is located on the small island of Lido. The hotel is a very cozy environment and we especially liked the back garden patio of the hotel. The balcony of our room was spacious. The overall setting was quiet and perfect for a retreat and vacation.

United KingdomBreakfast is a disaster. The room is too small, everyone shuffles around each other and they are constantly running out of food/drinks and not replenishing quick enough. I sorted a pot of tea - no milk. Asked, waited, by the time the milk arrived, the tea is cold. Put toast on then go for scrambled egg, none left - asked twice, 10 minutes later the eggs appear but the tea and toast is cold so I need to start again - wasting food and time. The fruit is like gold dust, grab it while you can. We stayed for 4 nights and it was like this every morning.
Fell in love with this quirky, art deco style hotel - situated across from the grand canal and a 10 minute walk to the centre where you’ll find plenty restaurants to choose from. The vaparetto is also here. The beach is 10 minutes in the opposite direction. We booked into the hotel beach club but as it didn’t have a pool, we cancelled and booked into blue moon - with the soaring temperatures we needed to dip into somewhere cold. There is a fabulous garden with a little bar which looks onto the canal, many bottles of wine were sunk here as we watched the sun setting. The rooms are very dated and it can be difficult to find staff at times but don’t let that put you off - this a wee gem of a hotel. The staff are quick to respond to emails and arranged our transport for us. This is a perfect place to stay after the madness of Venice and only a quick ferry trip away. Murano and Burano are also easily reached. I’ve visited Venice a few times and I’d definitely to choose to stay on the Lido and this hotel on my next trip.

ArmeniaThe breakfast was disappointing. There were only two types of cheese. Omelet should have been the only hot dish, but 3 out of 4 days there was an empty plate on the table instead of an omelet. In general, the breakfast is poor and monotonous.
Room was comfortable both for resting and working. An atmosphere was amazing.

United States of AmericaThe a/c didn’t work very well. Nights were a a bit warm. (And, No fault of theirs, but I would totally sign a petition against the music party boat that parked on the other side of the lagoon and blared music for hours on end one night)
It was quaint, and nostalgic but very well maintained. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always delicious. The outdoor garden area was my favorite for meals and evening cocktails. Loved everything about it.

MalaysiaNot many power points in the room. We brought our own extension cable and that saved us. The hotel only has place for 4 cars to park. But at the road side is free of charge as well and safe. Breakfast offers cheese in cubes rather than cheese slices, which is a bit odd.
Pet friendly. The house cat visited our balcony several times. Nice complete bathroom with rain shower and bidet. Nice balcony in the room. 10 min walking distance from the waterbus station to Venice. Free parking. Excellent coffee during breakfast. Staff was very helpful with providing information on how to get to Venice etc.
