Smaller hotel with many wood furnishings giving off a pleasant charge. I was in a very spacious room on the upper floor, outfitted with with a little filled minibar. The pool is a good size and cared for regularly. I actually also ate at their restaurant on both evenings and the food was delicious. Breakfast is a choice of three (Western, Asian, Local) and within each section you can choose the items.

The only negative was that, although clean, the bathroom could do with a mould remover in the showere area. Everywhere else in the bathroom was fine - no problem.

The pool was excellent - we were in the pool every day to cool off as some days it was 45 degrees. Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice & yoghurt & fruit which not all hotels provide. Breakfast was included in the price, which is a bonus. We also used the restaurant & the food was great. The staff were absolutely terrific - so helpful, could not do enough for us. This hotel is in the French Colonial style, which we loved. The room we had was very spacious. It's not too far from the centre of town in a tuk tuk or a taxi. We found the tuk tuks cheaper & cooler - as you drive along you get a great breeze which cools you off.

My pillows were the 'thick and stiff' type. I went down to the lobby and requested for a 'softer' pillow, which was delivered to my room.

Hotel has a unique charm to it, with the wooden structures, walls, and floors. Spacious rooms. AC unit works well. Bed was comfortable and my room had a balcony. The free breakfast was nice.

The hotel was a little further from the main Vientiane sites than we anticipated. There is also a nightclub just down the laneway that is loud and I wish I had known about before booking. The hotel provides earplugs but they didn’t really do the trick.

We loved the charm and authenticity of Chandara! The pool and balconies outside the rooms were very pretty and the staff was lovely and helped with everything.

The breakfast was one of the worst I’ve had anywhere. I ordered pancakes and there was more oil than anything. Same with my partner’s omelette. The coffee was also really bad.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was good, right in the centre of town. Only about a 5 minute tuk tuk to the river.

Nothing - the staff were particularly helpful with organising tuk tuks. Our rooms were cleaned daily. In all honesty, I rate the Chandara as a very good place to stay, either as a single traveller or with a family.

The pool was lovely - set in a relaxing garden. The breakfast was generous and we also had a few dinners at the Chandara. Again, excellent.

Nestled in a tranquil setting not far from the city and attractions, this place offers serenity well worth the investment. The staff, while genuinely helpful and polite, may fall short of Western standards in their services, a reflection of Laos's pace of progress. My laundry experience, though not flawlessly executed, wasn't due to carelessness but perhaps a lack of awareness. Despite a monotonous breakfast, the overall stay aligns with Laotian standards, providing a satisfactory experience in this peaceful locale.

I'm a breakfast fan so I could think of ways to improve that a little bit. Otherwise you're really getting excellent value for your money.

The Chandara Boutique Hotel has the friendliest staff you can imagine, they make you feel very much at home. Also, the hotel has a lot of charme because much of it is made of wood in traditional designs. It's a nice quiet oasis in the hustle and bustle of Vientiane. I can definitely recommend it. Good food and drinks, too. Try the fried spring rolls and the fresh passionfruit margaritas - delicious!!
