Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandBathroom door was quite heavy and bathroom itself was a little small.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Room was compact but did the job. You could rent free bikes, they were a little old but still useable. Free filtered water refills.

GermanyThe room was ok in general, but the room itself and the bathroom were quite moldy. You could smell it, we opened the window every time we got into the room. Also the WLAN was bad, as we had the last room on the 1st floor.
The staff was the friendliest we had in Laos so far! Always in a good mood, helpful and nice to talk to.

CanadaEverything was functional but a bit run down. Our bathroom had black mould or mildew, the side of the sink was very dirty, the top of the bar fridge was dirty and the floor wasn’t as clean as it could be. The cover on the bed was stained. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomOther people in reviews pointed out there was a smell from the drains so the bathroom could be smelly... This is true but it wasnt overwhelming so it didn't bother me.
Settled into this laid back guesthouse and it made an excellent base from which to explore the city, especially since they offered free bicycles to get around to most sights with. Our room was clean and quiet and I managed to have a restful time there every night. The staff were really lovely and helpful with travel advice - about using the bus to get to Buddha park for example. The communal area was chilled out and a good place to relax. Thanks so much to all the staff for your kindness.

United KingdomA great place to stay in Vientiane. We had a wonderful welcome, including a quick introduction to where everything is. Rooms are quite small but perfectly functional and there's enough space for bags etc. Comfortable and clean bed, decent shower and a kettle in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful - organised an early morning taxi to the airport for us. Moonlight Champa is about a 15/20 minute walk from where the bus from Vang Vieng drops off. Definitely recommend.

The hotel owner was very nice, really welcoming. He provides you with advice on how to get taxis, where to eat/coffee and how to use local busses. Really top service. The room was clean and spacious. Location was good around 10-15 mins walk to anything in the centre.

ThailandThe mattresses are very hard and the smell from the drains outside wasn't great. But that's not the hotels fault. I imagine most places in the area have the same issue.
Great location, a short walk from the river and the main central area but on a quiet street. Fantastic hosts - really helpful and friendly.

ChinaThe facility is to be upgraded. It is a pity that the TV does not work. But understand it’s not a five star hotel. The balcony view at the third floor is much much better than the second floor(lots of cables). I really enjoyed the third floor.
Good to see Phout again when I came back to Vientiane. He and his colleague very kindly helped me arrange the taxi to the airport via their local app. Very thankful for all your kindness during my stay. Wish you a happy 2024!

TaiwanThe hostel is nice, although it has a severe sewer problem. We rented four rooms (all more or less the same issue), first night we didn't want to enter the bathroom due to the heavy smell, second night was better, but still existent.
Nice and helpful staff, provide you with plenty of information to get around. Nice free bicycles, good breakfast.

Singapore- Water doesn't flow very well after a shower and there's a sewage smell in the toilet
- Proximity to the main attractions in the city centre, can just reach on foot within 20 minutes. - Comfortable and relatively clean room. - Friendly and helpful staff who assisted in our various inquiries - We could refill our water bottle for free at level 1. - Many food options nearby.

ChinaThe TV in my room doesn’t work well but not a big deal. The lane is a little bit dark in the evening
Green, refill water instead of bottled water. Nice balcony with good view of big trees and the opposite five star hotel, hahaha! Very nice and helpful staff speaking good English. Especially thanks to Phout for receiving me with big smile every evening, feeling like going home.

United States of AmericaStairs are OK. But if you have a lot of things or disability the 4th floor might be hard for you. Sheets, towels, curtains were worn. No mini-fridge. Chair was wobbly. Not a big deal. But last time I was in Vientiane the room prices around USD$20 easily included those things. Vientiane is much more expensive in general after COVID. So I don't know how to compare the prices now. But it seemed a bit expensive.
The staff I met were very, very helpful and nice. Helped with transportation and planning advice, phone SIM card, and many other things. I was moved into a bigger room that was available at no cost. It had a little balcony. Big French doors that opened all the way. Cool until early afternoon outside. Great. Hot water and AC worked well. If you want to be near the old city and the tourist core the location is good. Overall it was nice. The great staff made up for a lot of small things. Saved me hassle and money.

SingaporeMy only critique is that we got the basic room that seemed to be a spare room, cause we had a shower curtain for a bathroom door while the other rooms had proper doors. Hence our situation was abit unenviable cause when someone pooped, I can smell it cause the bed is literally right beside.
This place exceeded my expectations for a cheap hotel. The service was superb. They provided free bikes which were an absolutely incredible and convenient way to see the city. Additionally, I have never gotten a Google maps link to a list of essential places and food recommendations until now. I loved the food recos and high speed WiFi. Also the breakfast was simple but good. The staff were also amazing. Overall I loved it here
