The weather in Sri Lanka has been quite warm lately, but staying at this hotel made all the difference. Surrounded by lush greenery and plants, we hardly felt the heat; in fact, it felt pleasantly cool. The gentle breeze from the nearby river provided an added sense of comfort, making it delightful to relax by the water's edge and enjoy a meal with a picturesque view. Plus, they even arranged a safari for us right from the hotel! If you're looking for a refreshing escape, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

This motel serves really wonderful meals. The best part of my trip to Sri Lanka was that. We even went on an amazing safari that they organised for us. There's a big river close by that's presently overflowing with water, so swimming is not advised because of the crocodiles. But the large garden provides a wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy your stay at the hotel.

The room was closed to the desk so some sounds. Next time I'll ask for a room that's a bit far away. Slight paint smell as it was painted recently (not the owners fault)

Excellent room, owner was very helpful. The rooms and washrooms have been remodelled and look very nice. Amazing value for money. I arrived on the busiest day of the year (local holidays) yet the owner was attentive and helpful.

Water pressure was a bit low. They are fixing it along with other renovations going on right now. It was not a deal breaker though. There is adequate hot water. Gets the job done, just slower.

Our room has a balcony facing the River, where we saw a lot of different colourful birds. It was also very private. The sitting area was very spacious and we can watch the River slowly flowing by. Very relaxing. The balcony also is in the shade all day long, so with a gentle breeze, it was very comfortable to sit outside and chill. At night time, mosquito coils were lit to ward off the pesky mosquitoes, but having repellants would provide more protection. The room itself was adequate for our needs. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning very powerful. The family and their assistant was the star of the show. They were always ready to cater to our reasonable requests, ie mugs, kettle, adapter etc etc. Although the fine print on the description did not list kettle or hairdryer, they promptly provided these at no extra charge. Only soap was provided, so if you are staying longer, bring your own toiletries. Food … glorious food. We had our breakfasts and most dinners at the Inn, and I agree with the other guests who wrote about their dishes. They were super delicious. We chose Sri Lankan breakfasts x 3 mornings, everyday was a bit different, and they were all very good.. Dinner was either rice and curry, chicken soup or fried rice/noodles plus banana fritters with treacle. All were delicious and fair price. The garden was very well maintained with lots of interesting plants and fruit trees. There were multiple seating areas spread throughout the property, to enjoy the River view and the garden. Walk to town was also not too bad. 20 minutes or so leisurely walking will take you to town, where you can find 2 supermarkets, bakery and eateries.

I arrived with my teenage sons and soon the joy began..Thalina and his wife were the perfect hosts, they have 3 beautiful little children who are a delight and Thalina’s local knowledge is outstanding.. we had a tour of the green lake and it was our high light just before sun down.. he showed us everything and as an ex Hilton pastry chef his chocolate and banana pancakes are the best I’ve ever had!! The best host in Sri Lanka we have had .. A genuine humble sweet chap and such good value for money.. Why stay in expensive jungle lodges when he will arrange everything cheaper and better and I ain’t easy to please I promise you..

Amazing host family and a great facility! It’s laying on the riverside - quiet garden and beautiful view. The owner is really friendly and helpful, and he goes above and beyond to make every guest feel comfortable. The rooms are simple, but very clean and comfy. They have a nice terrace as well which have been taken really good care of. I would definitely recommend this place either for a solo traveller, couple or a family. Thank you for warm welcome and super hospitality!

The rooms and beds were incredibly spacious and impeccably clean. We indulged in both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food was not only delicious but also reasonably priced. Mr. Thilina, the owner, personally took us on a safari, showcasing his kindness and hospitality. By the time we departed, we had formed a genuine friendship with him.

My partner and I arrived at the hotel after a scenic journey from Ella town, just as the evening was settling in. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, setting a delightful tone for our stay. As we explored the grounds, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a charming orchard boasting a variety of fruit trees, including cinnamon, pomegranate, avocado, and soursop. One of the highlights of the property was undoubtedly the picturesque river flowing peacefully behind the hotel, providing a serene backdrop to our experience. Though we ultimately chose not to stay overnight, we left with a strong recommendation for this hotel, confident that others would find it equally enjoyable.
