Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Host met us at arrival and gave us few tips on what to do/where to go. Breakfest was delivered to the room. Overall nice stay.

Breakfast was really good, room was spacious and great location as well. Room have private entrance, there is kitchen for everyone to use. Car parking quite big and safe to keep car. Reception guy was friendly, he gave some good advises about places to visit and to eat.

The water supply in the shower is perfect, a bigger shower head is desirable... A water drink for breakfast is a very good idea, I would recommend a longer time for the addition of lemon, orange to withstand before serving

Everything was perfect!
The staff was fantastic, so welcoming and hospitable. We were feeling like we were saying at a friends place. The breakfast was delicious and substantial.

The area is peaceful. Free parking spot at the house, our room had a separate entrance, the room was spacious. Comfortable firm bed mattress, new blankets and pillows. Lovely breakfast. Exceptionally polite and helpful staff.

It's a suggestion :) Near the child playground, please put a symbol "non smoke" :)
The guest house owner was kind and helpful. During the check-in, he introduced us to the city and told us what we could do here, engaging with a 3-year-old child. The room was with a separate entrance. Outside, near the door, we had a small table for coffee or late talks while our child was sleeping. The room was cleaned every day while we weren't at. The towels were also changed every day. The guest house has a shared kitchen, where you can find almost all kitchen tools, dishwasher, microwave, washer machine, and detergent. Also, there was a possibility to order breakfast in the room. (It was one of my favorite things here :D) Guest house has a small playground with a sandbox and swings :) Overall, there was a feeling that the host cared about us during the entire stay. Thank you :)

Room could be a little bit more modern. No floor heating in bathroom and shower.

There was a misunderstanding with one of the bookings, however it was resolved fast and favourably
It was exactly what we needed as a base to stay over before heading on. We already had full days travel done along the coast of Latvia, so all we wanted was somewhere comfortable to rest.

Next to a crossroad
Nice little clean hotel, near city center and public beach. The host is very friendly and ready to help. I had a ferry from Ventspils early in the morning. Only when I was on the ferry i've realized that i forgot my rain poncho in the hotel. I phoned the hotel and the owner brought it to the port for me. Thanks a lot for that!

It's on a busy road, so there can be traffic noise. It didn't bother us too much.
Comfortable no-frills room had everything we needed for a one-night stay. Breakfast is delivered to the room - there is a choice of dishes and it was very tasty. Proprietor extended our checkout time so we could leave our luggage in the room, as we needed to go out for a couple of hours in the morning.
