Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

EgyptIn the Medina of Marrakech, off the bustle of the market that is the Great Square, lies an oasis of peace and comfort called the Riad Basma. Within its walls lies an open-air courtyard, in which one can decompress. The rooms that surround this courtyard offer both all the comfort and security that anyone can wish for. Their simplicity and beauty will put anyone at ease, while still providing all the modern necessities one can wish for. The breakfast, enjoyed on the open-air terrace, that is provided is both delicious and filling. And if any assistance is needed, than Ali is there to go over and above the call of duty, as well as to enjoy a pleasant conversation with if that is all that is needed.

ItalyI have been to Marrakesh several times but I have never experienced a fresher, better breakfast than this, the best m'semen ever! The gem of this riad is Ali. Despite our very late night arrival (due to flight delay) Ali greeted us with a smile despite the fact that we had unfortunately woken him up. It was very sweet and helpful of him not to burden us with the problem caused and we appreciated it very much. Also, I have never met a more friendly and helpful host. He helped us with everything and granted us pleasant conversations that enriched our stay. You can see some earthquake damage but the riad is still very nice and I got to take some beautiful pictures inside.

This was our first time in Marrakech and so glad I found this Riad. An absolutely beautiful Riad located close to Medina, Marrakech. The Riad is not as big BUT it is stunning the photos doesn't give it enough justice! it’s beautifully decorated, every detail is amazing. It is a little gem! We stayed for 3 nights our room, shower areas were always clean and also spacious. The breakfast were served on the rooftop and it was lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The Staff were lovely, helpful and professional. Fatima is amazing we’ve only met her once when we first arrived in Riad but she was very good in communicating via whatsapp if you need her and she will remind you and make sure that you get on your return flight on time!! She’ll help you organise your taxi back to Airport. Very helpful and we felt at peace!

United States of AmericaThe wifi is alright in the courtyard but doesn’t work in the rooms. The wall’s were quite thin. Sound travels very easily so I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you get woken up easily. But I’m not sure if this is a common situation in most Riad’s in Morocco.
The location was perfect. So close to everything. The breakfast was great too, really good value for money. The riad’s design was very aesthetically pleasing. It felt like we were getting an authentic local hotel experience.

HungaryThis place is located in the heart of the city. The staff is nice and the breakfast was also very good. Our room was cleaned every day, and it was really clean. If you want to be close to the Moroccan culture this Rijad is great, you will feel the vibes of the city firs hand. Value for money is definitely great, highly recommended!

From the moment I arrived until the moment I departed the staff at Riad Basma Marrakech were superb. They welcomed me, and helped carry my luggage to my room. They demonstrated how the air conditioning and the security safe worked, showed me the wifi username and passwords and gave me information and times regarding breakfast. The room was atmospheric which of course looked onto the highly decorative courtyard. The wifi was excellent and worked faultlessly. The breakfast which was quickly served on the roof terrace was simple and delightful. When making enquiries Fatima was incredibly helpful and informative and spoke and wrote very good English. Upon arrival Yassin welcomed me and showed me and familiarised me with the amenities. Latifa was a very pleasant and helpful lady who was flexible with her cleaning times. The team even helped me book a porter and a taxi to and from the premises. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and professional and I can only say a huge thank you to them all.

IrelandIt’s pricey for what it offers. We realised that we could get better options for same or at a lower cost. No wifi signal to the ground floor room which was annoying. No television. Cars/taxis won’t go to the property. So you will be dropped at the square and you need to walk through the busy market for approx 500-600mtrs with your luggages. You could get people to carry luggages in trolleys at the square, for 20-30 MAD, after bargaining
The property is close to Medina, 5min walk. And we loved the morning breakfast at terrace. Facilities were just okay. Staff were friendly. Stay is nice for families.

CanadaMy two adult.sons and I spent a lovely 4 nights at Riad Basma in November. The riad is very conveniently located, close to the mayhem of the Djema el Fna, but on a quiet street. The staff are wondrrfully friendly and welcoming. Fatima organized our airport pickup and a day tour to Ourika for us, everything was excellent. I would highly reccomend Riad Basma for your stay in Marrakech.

GermanyBreakfast could have been a little bit better, though still nice to sit on lovely roof terrace! It would help to leave a note with the wifi password in the room. It took some time until we got someone to help us here…

United States of AmericaI guess we met no staff - we met a guy who let us in but that was about it - no one around to ask or do anything else - I understand it is a Riad and so this is not to ding points - just mentioning that tourists may need help
The room was well decorated - so was the Riad - the bathroom was clean and the Riad was in general clean and well maintained. Location was great to walk to the market.
