Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdomwe were not so happy when baby elephants stayed for 2 nights in the room above us :P
we loved everything about this property, the clean room with a fridge, the helpful and friendly staff, the amazing view of the grand harbour, the location was ideal for exploring valletta and also to access public transport to get out and about, and the huge breakfasts to start each day, We went on 2 bus tours around the island and we were very happy with our choice of hotel and particularly the location.

AustraliaArrived late no instruction as to how to get in. Phones &!wifi didn’t connect in Malta. Was informed by a couple who turned up that we had to go up to Restaurant 2streets up (where breakfast would be served) to get help from a staff member. Taxi driver had to reverse out of street which finishes where property is
Lift to spacious apartment. Bottled water provided daily with fresh towels. Most wonderful and hearty breakfast at restaurant location was fabulous

SlovakiaThere were no options of extra drinks - there was a complimentary water bottle, but nowhere else to buy in the hotel if you needed more, so I would suggest you bring your own. There was a baby crib in the room, which was a bit weird, as we were not aware of this. There was no staff around. The breakfast was not in the hotel, but you had to walk to their restaurant. At breakfast, we sat down without being given menus or explained how the breakfast worked. When we asked someone for help after sitting there for a while, we were met with a rude attitude.
Very good location. The room was spacious with a safe, fridge and iron. The aircon was really good. Also, the room had 4 windows, which brought a lot of natural light in. The room was clean.

United KingdomBedding whilst clean was lower quality sheets and duvet cover, bed was not comfortable and had a plastic protective cover. Room can be quite noisy if you wanted to get to sleep early, noise from the downstairs street bar (Friday night local musicians too) and traffic from the nearby road, late at night and early morning.
Perfect location for our visit, being able to easily walk to the Gozo and Birgu ferries, the excellent bus service as well as plenty of really good local restaurants. Love the room, the balcony area was perfect, seating for 2 and a view of the grand harbour. Fridge was small be helpful for a few bottles for water (or wine)

LuxembourgThe breakfast served in the Luciano restaurant (kitchen in the hotel under renovation) could have been better.
The localisation is truly amazing, the hotel has a great potential Would be great if they invest a little more into the bathroom renovation. The harbour view from the room was great, cleaning ladies came every day so the room was always proper.

United KingdomCafe part of the hotel was closed during our stay, not sure if this is seasonal or not but if it was open it would have been a real bonus.
amazing location, even better if you have a room with a view. Steps away from the hustle and bustle of Valletta's streets and great links to the boat ferry to the three cities.

United KingdomThe only downside for us was we had nowhere to hang our clothes. We stayed for a week and there was very minimal storage.
It was a lovely old property. Perfectly positioned in Valletta with fabulous views over the Grand Harbour. The place was exceptionally clean, brilliantly looked after by Louise.

SwitzerlandDue to refurbishment we had to take the breakfast in the restaurant at the Merchant Street which was unconvenient (loud music, croissant in plastic bags, good omelette, some unfriendly staff but also some friendly one). Infrastructure is not fully adequate to "boutique hotel" style (low-cost material in bath room, old bed), fairly small room for this price
Location with great view on Grand Harbour; nice building and room with lime stone walls and old-style windows

United KingdomPleasant breakfast but no longer at the hotel. Served at the sister hotel nearby. Slightly unfinished appearance of our top floor, harbour-facing room, with incomplete electrical wiring. The bigger room downstairs that I stayed in 6 years ago was better. Unattended for most of the day unless by prearrangement. Tiny bathroom and balcony. Doesn't quite reach the level of a "boutique" hotel, but nonetheless a great place to stay.
Possibly the best view in Valletta. Everything in the city is within easy walking distance, as long as steps are not a problem. Just a few minutes walk to the 3 Cities ferry / water taxis. Beautiful lively city. Lots of nice places to eat and drink. Feels safe. Plentiful hot water. Good, helpful communication with the hotel via Booking.com.

SwedenThere is no Reception at this hotel. What was unforgiveable is the lack of information for new guests. We arrived at the hotel during business hours on a Friday, and were met with locked doors. There was absolutely no information about what we should do. However, the name, address, and phone number of the hotel were printed above the door. We rang the number, and were given an access code. A staff member came down from the restaurant, opened a locked safe, and gave us our room key. After that, we had no problem. During our stay, we met other new guests standing outside the locked door, wondering what to do. Unbelievable! We have stayed at other hotels with no reception but have always been given clear information on booking.com about what to do, and where to go. This was a first, and frankly, it is an unacceptable and disgraceful way to treat any new guest. The other issue was the lack of information about breakfast. Staff at the restaurant were lovely, and the food was good. However, we struggled to know exactly what we were entitled to as hotel guests, and some staff seemed just as confused (could be misunderstandings due to language). We ate the 'English breakfast' (you can get a vegetarian version of this too - eggs, baked beans, mushrooms), and we also ate muesli and yoghurt.
The view from our room across the harbour to Fort St Angelo on Vittoriosa was magnificent, as was the location, a short walk to St John's Co-Cathedral (amazing), Lower Barrakka Gardens (definitely worth a look), and around 10 minutes walk down the hill to the Three Cities Ferry (pay on board), and the Gozo High Speed Ferry. There was nothing flash about our room with en suite, but it was comfortable, had a small fridge, and our towels were changed daily (thank you for that). Linen was worn, but clean. We were able to use our European plugs in the room. Breakfast was at Luciano Restaurant, 21 Merchants St (turn left out of hotel, walk up 13 low stairs, then turn right and walk up 67 low stairs, cross the road, walk up the hill and 2 more stairs, then turn right and see Luciano Restaurant). Staff were pleasant. We had an early morning flight, and ordered a Bolt (car and driver) a couple of days before we left, to take us to the airport at 3.30am. It cost Euro 12, so very reasonable.
