This was repeat visit. Room this time was not as in past. Smaller. No hot water in shower. Room service failed to daily water daily with room clean.

Food, rooms could have been bigger for the cost, and they never brought face towels! That I requested doing the whole stay. Should have alcohol in the room like other resorts have.

I loved everything!

This resort was amazing. All of the staff were very friendly and the food and drinks well as advertised! Great! The room was very clean and I would book this resort again. I will definitely be back to the Hyatt Ziva!

The floors echo fairly badly so you could hear everything in the hallways especially early in the morning when we were hoping to sleep in. It was mainly kids who were just excited for the day. Note: our room was directly next to the elevator. The gym was rather small for the size of the resort and was always super packed. Maybe offer more classes outside of the gym. I hate I missed the trampoline class. I saw it when I was stretching and it was full but looked super fun. We made NYE dinner reservation for our party of 10 (which costed extra $140pp) and we had taken the last 10 spots (paid in advance). We show up at 7pm for our reservation only to be told they over booked. We were pushed to another restaurant with a private room (which was great but the food was NOT!) and we’re told we would be refunded the difference for the seats reserved for the NYE show (which has not happened yet). We were also told we would still be able to order lobster but when we arrived were told it was extra charge which I felt was totally unfair. The seats they reserved us for the NYE show did help make up for this mishap but I still felt we shouldn’t have been charged. I’m still waiting on a call regarding my refund.

Everything was wonderful from the Food, Adult only pool, wait staff (Yesenia and Marco!) and María at the taco bar, the comfort of our room and room views, the activities at the main pool and especially the NYE production, show, fireworks and set up with ample staff to serve drinks! It was a great party & the 90s theme was fire!!

Both the main pools were way too cold to swim in, which meant everyone was trying to crowd into the two beachfront hot tubs. The adult pool was open, but still a little on the cool side. Not many choices at the buffet for people who can’t have gluten. Also, not many vegetarian entrees. I really wish they would start the night shows earlier. They start at 8:45, but had the kids part of the program first. A lot of people would leave early, and I felt bad for the talented artists performing to a near empty theater

The breakfast buffet is really good, has fresh made to order eggs or omelets. The juice bar out by the beach has fresh made veggie/ fruit juice- a great way to start the day. The restaurants were good, and the Japanese hibachi was so much fun! Our chef was the best ever! All inclusive, lots of good food and drinks. Our favorite was the mango margarita. The night shows were great! What talent! The dancers were amazing, and also the resident singer who sang at the upstairs bar and also for some of the night shows. We didn’t have children with us, but there were several families at the resort with small children. They’ve really expanded the children’s program, lots of activities in the day and early evenings. But the very best thing is the location. Right on a beautiful beach. The turtles come here to nest in the winter, so if you get out at sunrise you’ll be sure to see the baby turtles making their way to the ocean. It’s just a short taxi ride to downtown San Jose, a fun shopping village with several good restaurants. Also, the Hyatt Ziva has many excursions to choose from. We did the glass bottom boat out to the arch in Cabo, and also the whale watching trip. Which was absolutely amazing! We saw several momma and baby whales.

1. The buffet has a very limited variety of foods and quite repetitive. That is, of course, when compared to other similar experiences I had. 2. One of the restaurants was undergoing renovation. I didn't know when I booked. 3. Some "corner" areas are visibly ugly: for example, the management probably expected everybody to take the elevators. However, in the building I lived in, if you took the stairs, you would see a lot of stuff lying around randomly. What are the "stuff", you ask. I think some of them were like building material some of them looked like personal belongs of the employees there.

There is no protection at the pools against the sun

Almost everything, and I say "almost" because there's no shadows at the pools I know is a pool, but we kids and sun were super hot and burning, and for that you had to pay like 100 to 200. Everything else was great 👍

The service at a few of the restaurants were found to be lacking. At the steakhouse, La Hacienda, we found our food to be quite dry and under seasoned. At the two breakfast buffets, we found it quite hard to access servers.

The hotel was beautiful and well kept. There were so many amenities that we would have to go back to experience them all. We had two great dinner experiences at Doza and Bon Vivant. The pools were amazing and we found it was very easy to access food and drinks.
