Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Pool didn’t seem open (it was covered) and the sauna & steam room was off. It ended up I’d have to wait to long for it to heat up and use it before check out. So the well-being facilities felt a bit disappointing. But I think it’s much more about the food, the character, and the amazing location so that’s ok
Felt immediately comfortable and looked after by the staff. The room was very plush with a gorgeous view over fields and the forest dunes. Bathtub was wonderful. Food was seriously delicious. Such a special place to come back to and relax in after a day walking through the dunes and to the beach.

It was a pity that we twice asked for using parts of the spa and the staff told us they would take care of it but then they never did. 2 out of 3 showers in the spa didn't work properly. I believe for that room price the breakfast could be included. As the bathtub was in the room, next to the bed, it would have been good to provide an extra large mat to place in front of the tub. I believe it would be better to make the hotel WiFi safer by setting up a password. I did not use it because there was no password. Thin mattress and for my liking too soft. And I expected it to be 1 big bed but it was 2 separate mattresses. There was supposed to be a water kettle in the room but there was not - I later found out I could have received it from the reception.
Perfect location, close to all shops and to nature. Pretty hotel interior with extraordinary art decor. Great to be able to use the spa; nice pool, steam-room (lots of steam!) and sauna. Room and all areas were very clean. We enjoyed having a separate WC and bathroom - also a big shower. Friendly staff.

The automatic light in the passage woke us up as it came on and stayed on for quite a time when either of us went to the bathroom during the night.
Wonderful staff. Extremely helpful and friendly. The Duinen Suite was lovely with such a relaxing view over the field, and our meals were delicious.

the hotel focuses very much on it’s highly rated restaurant and the less Nobel of the two restaurants is also highly recommended. however the hotel is not interested in providing a good value breakfast but would rather see guests using the options offered in the village centre. also the Wellness area receives little more than token lip service. The beautiful lounge is not made inviting for the guests in the evening. that’s a pity for those who wish to enjoy a cozy drink before returning for the night.

There was nothing not to like.
This has to be one of our absolute favourite places to stay after one exceptional stay. Everyone was very polite and friendly. We have decided to return again in the hopefully not to distant future.

no mini bar in the room, which one might expect for a hotel at this price. the room was nice but not very big even though it was already a “large” room. the Swimmingpool was only accessible on demand due to high energy costs. this is all good if you are in an oeko hotel, but not if you pay 250€ per night. it was not possible to stream to the TV, no Netflix, bad Internet connection in the room thus overall the price-value balance was not ok. I would not go there again for 250 per night, 150 would be more appropriate
