Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Trinidad and TobagoBed was a bit uncomfortable and the stairs are a workout!
The hotel is upstairs a bar in the historic red light district. The room was clean but the bed was a little uncomfortable. Close to all the action and walking distance to the railway. The staff at check-in (Jess) was extremely helpful with places to eat and keeping track of the weather! Thank you for your help! Overall, good value for money.

IndiaMy knee got injured while dragging the luggage up a flight of very very steep stairs, that are a few cms wide, meaning, you have to be on your toes. The location is in one of the dingy streets of the red light district.
Cleanliness. Soundproof.

GreeceThe price was expensive, yet it is Amsterdam, and everything is expensive regarding the accommodation.
The location was the best, right in the middle of the red-light district. Also Katerina who was working at the bar downstairs was amazing, super friendly, and very polite.

United KingdomIt was quite loud at night, and there was no free wifi. Also, the location is unbelievably packed at night.
Perfect little room for a solo traveller. I could've happily stayed in the room for a week or so.

United KingdomThe main things I didn't like about the hotel were more to do with the building itself and not so much the business. My room was at the front of the building and at night, you could hear all the noise from the street outside and with it being busy until the early hours of the morning, it was hard to get to sleep on the first night, after that I got used to it. The bathroom was across the hallway meaning you had to leave the room to get to it. Finally, the stairs were a little smaller/steeper than I'm used to. All these issues I was aware of before booking due to reading the reviews so I had a fairly good idea what to expect and it was not a major issue for me, I only mention it so people know what to expect.
The hotel was easy to find right in the heart of the red light district, I arrived late but check-in was smooth and hassle free. The guy working the bar seemed friendly and helpful and the room I was given met my expectations based off what I had seen on this site My room had everything I needed and I especially liked having a fridge and coffee machine. The location was one of the best aspects as not only are you right in the middle of the red light district but it is only a short walk to the main train station and Dam Square.

United KingdomThe mood was a little bit spoiled by the manager on the last day. He came off a little bit insensitive and condescending. He knew I was a solo traveler with my dog, who wasn’t 100% at the time. Yet he talked down to me when he knew I had a lot going on. The female bartender was fantastic, and I couldn’t fault her attitude. I feel the manager could undoubtedly learn a bit from a course in customer etiquette.
I had A Lovely time at the hotel, and the staff was excellent, especially the female one who watched my dog when I ran an errand.

United States of AmericaShe nice the bathroom is across the hall, we had to keep it locked separately, which is fine, but makes another thing to think about if you get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. But, we understand the reasoning and we’re happy to have our own private bathroom regardless.
The room had great lighting as we were on the top floor and was very charming overall. It was clean and cozy but still had plenty of space. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room, but was for our private use only. The downstairs bar was great to have right there and all the staff we interacted with were warm, friendly and helpful with recommendations and any other questions we had. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel and could easily walk to explore most areas of interest in the city.
