“The grounds of the accommodation are stunning. The location is easy to access via car, off of a main road, and is a very good central base to travel around Val D'Orcia. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. The wi-fi worked well. The breakfast, should you choose to order it for Euro 8 each, was simple and tasty and arrived in a cute wooden box. You can order a savoury or sweet breakfast. The savoury breakfast comes with a hard boiled egg, a salami sandwich and some fruit. The sweet breakfast comes with pastries, granola, yogurt and fruit. We found it more than plentiful. There is a coffee machine that uses pods. The accommodation provided 2 pods initially, and provided additional pods with out breakfast. The attached restaurant (Fondo) was excellent. It is not open on Mondays, but we ate there on the Sunday and the Tuesday of our stay. I would highly recommend.”

  • Hotel Picchio Review Score: 10

“Fantastic value! Our room was spotless. Pillows and beds were very comfortable. Staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was a buffet of several fresh pastries, meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereal. The walk from the train takes just a few minutes, but it’s up an incline. There’s not a lot to see near the hotel, but the funicular is very close and takes you up to the top of the hill where the little town of Orvieto overlooks the Italian countryside. There’s a pizzeria a few minutes from the hotel where we ate dinner. We stored our luggage inside the hotel until our train left in the afternoon. Overall this hotel had everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again.”

“Great pool, convenient for access to old town of Siena”

  • Hotel Podere Conti Review Score: 10

“We arrived at Podere Conti after an extreme flight delay and a drive in dreadful weather but the welcome was fantastic. We were just in time for dinner and the family couldn't have been more gracious. The food was incredible and the room was comfortable and spacious. In the morning there was a fantastic view over the surrounding area and Cornelia couldn't have been more lovely, chatty and helpful. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it's there for the good weather. Their ethos of sustainability and being organic in their farming is to be admired.”
