Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe didn't like the breakfast as much because there was no decaffinated coffee or cafe latte included. You had to pay extra. Swedish breakfasts usually serve some type of dark rye breads, but not here. Some herring would be nice with the eggs
We really liked the location, the building, the outdoor areas, and the gardens. The room was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The town is fantastic. The Skänken restaurant was beautiful inside. It was easy to park.

CanadaNo tea making in room or access in main hotel. Indeed, doors locked between parts of hotel. Stayed at Vadstena Kloster Hotel last year, much nicer.
Clean and generally quiet. Restaurant good, but not great. Castle and village very nice. Good place to spend a day.

United KingdomOur room was ground floor and next to the carpark which was a little disheartening. However the external sound proofing really good which is more than could be said for internal. The neighbours could be clearly heard and we had a very loud man next door. Fortunately after about 11pm it became very quiet and it was a peaceful night but the sound insulation was a concern. No complementary tea/coffee facilities.
Comfy bed and nice decor. Good shower. Room rate included breakfast which was lovely. Very extensive choice of freshly prepared food.. Had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious and reasonably priced for Sweden. Restaurant buzzing even on a Monday night. Located near the lake and 15 min walk from the fabulous castle/national portrait gallery.

NorwayPoor service in the restaurant. Three staff stood talking with each other completely ignoring our table. The reception did not charge us the extra cost for bringing two dogs when checking in, nether when we checked out. W e thought everything was prepaid and ok but they called and asked for Mastercard info when we were almost back home.

SwedenRoom was located somewhat below the parkingspace outside and with only one window, people outside had a good view inside. Room wall and bedside furniture was a bit dusty due to the ventilation in the ceiling. Room had a double door (locked ofc) to an adjacent room, with basically no soundproofing. Overall happy with the stay, but with the price I didn't expect these small issues.
Great breakfast, but a bit unorganized. Nice staff. Beautiful building and nice location by water and church.

SwedenRooms great, breakfast great, lobby great, outside bar and sitting area "tragic". It's raining all week, take in the sit cushions, potted plants on table tops overflowing with water. The bar has empty bottles, dish rags, small "stuff" etc. scattered everywhere in full view of morning breakfast. As I looked around there were plenty of staff to handle such small but important details. I don't understand how management could allow this to happen seeing as this area is so visible from the street. It's like advertising how the rest of the hotel will look.
As I said great experience otherwise, luckily the rest of the hotel is well kept and pleasant. Our room was fantastic, but, but the connecting room doors really need to be insulated. We felt uncomfortable talking at a normal volume because we could here the conversation happening in the room next to us. That's one thing you should be able to count on when staying at a nice hotel is privacy, we didn't.

FinlandService could have taken into account that we were attending a funeral and had the reception at the hotel. Very strange that there were no special prices to the rooms although we had a venue at the hotel arranged. I was disappointed to the lack of consideration.
Breakfast was great. Room on the first floor not so great. We also had my father's funeral service at the hotel and they did not offer for me to have the room for a delayed check out or anything. I also explained that it was my father’s funeral that I am coming for and they did not put us together in nearby rooms although there were many of us staying at the hotel. I also had an infant bed in my room.

United States of AmericaToo expensive. All: room, food and drinks (a regular black coffee is SEK 49:- = 4,50€). What I took to be Chief of staff was not very welcoming and accommodating.
The hotel as such is fine and the surroundings superb.

SwedenIt's fairly over-priced, both the hotel and the restaurant. Ground level rooms have a direct view from the street outside, so no privacy unless you use the blinding curtain. Wifi connection in the room was horrible, streaming anything was out of the question. Staff is friendly, but doesn't seem very experienced.
A hotel with great location and an interesting historic buildings. Nice beds and bathroom.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom was a little too small compared to the rest of the room. Also, the red wine we ordered with our diner wasn't at right temperature (it was above 20°C so room temp), but this was corrected as soon as I had kindly asked the waitor about it.
The general atmosphere of the place is great ! The room is very spatious and the best exceptionnally confortable ! We also had dinner and breakfast, and both were very well prepared and delicious. We appreciated the fast that most (if not all?) products are local and organic. We can highly recommand this hotel.
