Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Really great place to stay in Istanbul. The location is great as you can walk short 5 minutes to a very buzzy area with lots of bars and restaurants, or you're just short distance from the Galata bridge and across to Sultanahmet. Samet the owner was really helpful too, good recommendations and helped booked stuff like transfer to the airport.

Everything was excellent.
My wife and I had a great experience at the Opera Suites Okanlı. Samet the hotel manager was very welcoming and helped us before and during our stay. The Turkish breakfast in the morning was very nice. Looking forward to our next stay there.

Very good location in the renovated building. Quiet during the day and at night yet very close to all main attractions. 5-7 minted to the metro. Same time to reach Istiklal blvd. Clean. Dishwasher and fridge, teapot and even a cooking panel. If you come as a family with kids that’s the best option.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, great location, very easy walking distance to İstiklal Cd. The first night we were woken up by Ramadan drums and singing, a very unique experience. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Istanbul.

Breakfast was also great, but could be more varied (not the same every morning).
Samett the host was very sympathetic, he helped us with anything we asked for. The accommodation is in a beautiful 140 year old building, combining modernity with ancient architecture. It is also within walking distance to the Galata Tower and the bustling streets. But we also walked up to Top Kapi. It's quiet if you're not travelling in Ramadan😁 (because of the traditional Ramadan drummers waking you at 2 a.m.)We recommend this very nice and helpful host and great accommodation to all - you will feel like at home here in this jewel of hotel!

Nothing that I can think of! Great experience
The location is ideal and Samet was an amazing host! The area was quiet but walking distance from the busier areas and also very close to public transport. This was our first time in Turkey and the experience was notable mostly due to the accomodation. The view outside our window was also gorgeous, we enjoyed eating breakfast by the window with the view! Thank you to the team and we'll be looking to return soon :)

As a wheelchair user: the steep roads nearby the hotel were a challenge. This isn't the fault of the hotel. It's just a heads-up for other wheelchair users ( tip: taxis are cheap and good)
Samet, the owner is a wonderful man who is always ready to help or better the service. The suites are nearby a metro and Taksim square. But the neighbourhood is nice and silent!

Breakfast starts at 9.00 am, and despite breakfast being included in my package, I never once had it. It wasn't a problem as I just bought my own breakfast items. But, the time is impractical for anyone wanting to avoid long lines for attractions.
Very comfortable apartment with a great view of The Golden Horn and beyond to Sultanahmet. Only about 500m away from the metro. Other transport options were convenient. The apartment is in a very quiet area, no noise at night. There are a couple of supermarkets close by. The entire building is non smoking making it a welcome sanctuary in Istanbul.

The staff is very friendly and cooperative, they have guided also on travel plans and places to visit. The place is clean, quite and great for couple stay. Few minutes walks to all majaor tourist places.

Beautiful suites. Really feels like a home away from home with a bedroom, kitchen with desk for eating or office work while your spouse is sleeping, bathroom and entrance hall. You feel like a king when the pleasing breakfast tray arrives to start the day. Nice quiet sleeping neighborhood with small grocery at the corner. Surprisingly, just 7-8 streets up the hill, there are lively streets with restaurants, bakery and bars.
