Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Friendly, helpful staff! Will always go the extra mile, and nothing is an extra effort for them. They went out of their way to make our stay unbelievable! The position of the hotel is fabulous with an unbelievable view of the Brooklyn Bridge. My partner forgot her purse one evening at the roof top. We got it back a couple of days later (Was handed in by the staff on duty) without a penny missing) and there was quite a bit of cash in the purse! Thumbs up to the staff from 1 Hotel Brooklyn!!!! They certainly ensure once stay is way above the expected!

United States of AmericaThe restroom and bathroom is very open. I don’t like it. I was calling reception 2 hours to bring in our room some plates and glasses, and nobody came. I was disappointed about the service. Some units in the room like mirrors was dirty. looks very old. Room was very small for this price, and for a hotel 5 stars. I think, Next time I will choose another hotel to stay in NY. Only the rooftop was very nice, at 10nd floor.
Beautiful location.

BrazilI was expecting more for the price you pay - also, you get to pay an extra 50 dollars a day amenities at the end of your stay which is not published on booking. The hotel staff was not really friendly on check in. Rooftop area was closed for renovations, which apparently is one of the best areas of the hotel. There was a lot of noise due to these renovations and also construction besides the hotel. We paid for the room with the Brooklyn Bridge view and ended up getting one with the Liberty Statue view, which was not bad - the staff explained to us that due to construction this view would be better than the bridge (which was nice of him), I just think they should tell you this at the time you book the room.
Great location, beautiful installations and comfortable room. They provide good amenities, all nature-friendly.

United States of AmericaShower/bath combo in an upgraded suite was disappointing. Cramped shower/bath combo, and confusing controls for different valves and temperatures, made shower/bath time unenjoyable.

AustraliaThe roof top was closed - understandably the pool and bar as it was December, but went to have an evening stroll before heading out and it was locked by 7pm. Possibly a safety reason or similar but no info on door so not sure. Daylight hours was able to go outside and enjoy my coffee
Many would say the view as first response but for me it was the staff. Friendly, helpful and happy - this was the first thing I noticed and helped me relax into the surrounds.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is a little expensive, but there's just not much that we didn't like. We enjoyed our trip tremendously.
Absolutely loved this hotel. The views from our room and the roof deck, the location, the design of the hotel, and the service were all fantastic. We would absolutely stay there again.

United States of AmericaThe noise. The music after 6:30pm makes it impossible to hear. The coffee shop is terrible. Rather, the staff is untrained and not really into their jobs. Big contrast with the hotel staff.

United KingdomIt is New York so prices are steep, the rooftop bar was lovely but the cost of drinks was very steep but it didn't seem to deter customers as it was very busy with lack of seating.
The view from the room was amazing! floor to ceiling window of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline, it was so good we kept the curtains open at night! OK this hotel is very modern, weird and quirky colours and textures throughout the room but the room was large enough and the layout was excellent. The shower pressure was excellent and loads of sockets for our gadgets. The atmosphere in the lobby was very casual, staff are not dressed in a uniform which actually added to the quirkiness of the hotel. It could not be closer to the buzz of DUMBO pier to commute by ferry over to Manhattan.

United KingdomThey charge €46 dollars a day amenities charge at the end of your stay which is not published on booking or arrival at the hotel which is very poor and distasteful. Pretty much all of the things within the amenities charge are things you expect to be covered in the expensive cost of the room or things you don’t use anyway Staff in the restaurant were poor, didn’t acknowledge us for at least 15 minutes on arrival and then spent most their time chatting to other staff rather than focusing on their customers

South AfricaElevator keys were not working, many guests complained. Expensive for food and drinks, we had ou food and drinks at various places in the city, the ferry across is very cheap.
Location is the best I have experienced after many years of travel. Brooklyn has had a new facelift with a ferry service to match. Local food stalls were way above expectations get a full breakfast for 18$ ignore breakfast at hotel for 50$.

United KingdomFor the money it's a tad style over substance - they get wrong what Soho House (and they ARE trying to replicate the vibe) get so right. As with so many places in NYC the pool area and outdoor rooftop terrace and restaurant spaces are the main money spinners for them (all views based which are stunning), and so they are open to the public and it's a total bunfight to get space (we couldn't despite trying to reserve 7 months prior to arriving). The pool area at the weekend was simply laughable - sardines would have jumped out of the tin. We decamped to Soho House down the road which was bliss - which I realise not everyone can do. In truth it smacked a bit of a private equity backed model that milks its assets at the paying guests expense. I would however add, as is so often the case, that the staff - the soldiers on the ground - were really good. So management - STOP opening it all up to the public - keep it for guests and give them room to breathe. They are paying handsomely at over £1000 per night.
Room was good - small but on expectation as that's in the description so no cpmplaints. Room amenities fine. Views are the hotel's USP IF you can get to enjoy them, which isn't necessarily the case if you are a paying guest. Location is excellent and the area is hip and cool AND has a Soho House (Dumbo House) 600 metres away which is exceptional. The restaurant (Osprey) is great as is the cafe/breakfast place. Charming girl on reception - consistently charming - which was nice.

AustraliaService was not as great as you would expect for the price. Most of the staff were lovely. However, when approaching the front desk service was very slow. Did not get the impression that they would go above and beyond as many other premium hotels would. Requested late check out the night before, staff went into the back office to ask and we were told they were unable to confirm and that we would need to return tomorrow and ask again which seemed odd. Asked the next day and they were only able to give us an extra 30 minutes which is understandable as it was a Saturday so I’m assuming they were busy. Also something to note, we were on the 6th floor and could hear traffic sounds, nothing some white noise can’t cover though.
Hotel itself is amazing, views from roof top bar is stunning. The room is really well set out, quite spacious for New York and really functional. The lobby space is well decorated with comfy couches and charging areas.
