Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The security gates weren’t working. The room needs new flooring. A little update. There was a domestic issue and police was called in. Made things a little uncomfortable.

The facilities are dated. The carpet is seriously overdue for an upgrade.
The location was awesome. The staff was great and the parking was secure.

Breakfast was not good. Late and Hardly anything to eat. The staff members in the reception was not especially interested working. Exception was the last day when there was a very nice lady in the reception.

Location
I booked and paid for a king room. I was given a room with 2 full or queen size beds. I thought I made the mistake, but I didn't. When i asked the front desk about it, she had a very blasé attitude and I was told it was the same price.

The flooring on our room was very yucky old, moist carpeting. Our room door wouldn’t stay closed unless the door was locked. The toilet was broken in our room, but fixed quickly.
The location was great! The grounds were really pretty.

We would have picked one of the rooms with bigger windows... we were in one of the few rooms that is almost in a hallway. Our room was also right by the staff cleaning equipment which was loud in the morrning.
The hotel is charming with a beautiful courtyard. The beds were so comfortable. We both slept great every night!

Need to clean carpets often found them pretty disgusting. Maybe replace with some type of laminated flooring. Need to secure gates at night guess could have a key access after hours.
Centrally located,plenty of parking, quiet.

The room looked like it needed a lot of work to be finished and presentable. The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable. The shower was extremely small.
It was a nice location in the center of shopping and restaurants.

The carpet was clean but questionable stains, I wore slippers.
The location is ideal! Orange Inn restaurant best coffee in town. Pool, beach access a block away. Walk to The Sandpiper dive bar. Etc.

Hotel could use an update. Although it was clean, it could definitely use a refresh. Rugs in room were pretty grungy. "Gym" had three pieces of cardio equipment. Rooms used a real key (versus a card key). Because of this, the side gates (from the parking lot) which usually operate with a card key, were left unlocked. Anyone could just walk into the property so a bit of a security issue.
Location was great. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Ralph's is right across the street, so great to have that option. Room had a big size fridge (for a hotel), so you could stock it up with drinks. Comfortable bed. Salt water pool was nice. I like the layout of the hotel with the pool in the middle courtyard and the rooms around it. (In the South building.)

Very noisy during day due to children shrieking in the pool which is located right in the center of all rooms facing courtyard.
Location good for access to downtown and Pageant of the Masters. Free trolley stop right in front of hotel.

Needs some maintenance, upkeep. New mattress. It was noisy because our room was #60, first room at the end of building where the parking lot is. Several groups of visitors were talking as they walked into the building after midnight & woke me up.

The room seem somewhat dated but it was clean and comfortable.

The overnight noise of the grocery store delivery trucks. The doors do not stay closed unless deadbolt is engaged. No microwave in the south standard room.
