    A little gem in Cambridge
    • Business trip

There is no restaurant, no breakfast, although there is a desk, the chair in the room is extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to work.

This is a pleasant, wonderful hotel. Clean, simple, great for a business trip to Cambridge. The red line is right across the street, and although on Mass Ave it is not noisy. Rooms are specious, clean, in a minimalist style. comfortable bed.

The location was right across the street from the red line subway so it made transportation very easy . We felt very safe walking around any time. The hotel itself was gorgeous. The decor was nice , the inside was clean and taken care of, the staff was lovely and kind. Our room was very nice.

Might be nice to have some vending machines with drinks, but otherwise we have been pleased with the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The location is great--right across the street from the T train station in Porter Square. There is a coffee shop right on the block and a shopping center across the street with some places to eat, Target, CVS, and a cute book store. The hotel is an affordable option if you are traveling to Cambridge, and I highly recommend it.

Location is perfect if you're taking the T anywhere. It's across the street from the Porter Square station (probably 100 steps away). The hotel is CLEAN! The staff is all very kind. There's a coffee shop next door and a pretty decent ramen place across the street. We'll be back soon!

Super clean, great value for money, would stay again

I booked the smallest room category and there was just a tiny desk that also held the espresso machine, so it would have been difficult to work in my room. I would book a larger room category for a longer stay. Also, I love that they use large-format reusable bottles for toiletries, but there was barely enough shampoo for me and no conditioner at all. Inconvenient to discover this while already in the shower. Housekeeping needs to be briefed to check the fill levels, or they could switch to clear bottles so it's obvious when something is running low.

I stayed at Hotel 1868 for one night for events at Harvard. The hotel is super clean and recently decorated, and was easily able to accommodate my late check-in at 11 pm. Bathroom was nice, Wifi was fast, and location just one T stop from Harvard Square is convenient, plus Porter Square has some of its own restaurants etc. It's not super luxe, but it's really nice, and much better value than Harvard Square hotels which tend to be wildly overpriced.
