Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe location is great. Walking distance to the subway for easy transportation to all attractions in the city. Apartment was spacious - we did not have any issues fitting with two strollers. It was a quite room during our stay. Apartment was clean and kitchen was fully equipped. Staff helped us for luggage storage after check out as well.

United States of AmericaThe room was on the second floor, the windows were operable which helped with the temperature control. There might have been amenities, but no one told us what or where they were. There was no phone or directory in the room or on the tv. I think you have to request your room cleaned or if you need coffee refilled because it didn’t happen once in 4 days. There was no do not disturb sign. This seems more like a bare bones budget hotel, however the price does not reflect that. The room had nice finishes once, but it is dated and dinged up now.
The room was big with a kitchenette and on the second floor. This was not the cheapest room on booking.com. After I read the reviews we upgraded, because we didn’t want to be on the first floor. There’s a Trader Joe’s across the street and cvs nearby. The location is great, right next to Georgetown and a mile from the White House.

United States of AmericaKitchen amenities weren't great. No much as far as plates, cookware, paper towel, cleaning supplies. Bedding did not have blankets (got some by asking).
The location is awesome, in Foggy Bottom/Georgetown area. Lots to do right by hotel. Staff was nice.

IsraelOld room and kitchen. no solution for breakfast at the hotel or nearby. its a short walk to the subway, was a bit hard with lots of luggage.
No breakfast is offered at the hotel and no close places to eat or shop properly (only small shops). Nice big rooms and ok location. Facilities and room are a bit old but well maintained. Overall a positive experience.

LuxembourgPlace is very old and dusty. Parking too expensive for just a place outdoors. DC had cheaper park houses around we saw later. AC unit in room was too noisy to be on in the night.

United States of AmericaNo fan in the bathroom and the building was rather hot.
The location was wonderful. We were able to walk to the Metro to go to the Mall and walked to Georgetown for dinner. The bed was comfortable and it was nice having a kitchen. We didn't use it for anything other than leftovers and coffee/tea.

Walking distance between the Capital and Georgetown, a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Free street parking available on weekends. Quiet area, even though I was on first floor facing street.

United States of AmericaThe temperature control was a little wonky. Had the room set for 70 but woke up with the temp over 80. Fortunately, the windows open so we could cool off the room quickly.
Staff were very helpful. Check in was delayed so they upgraded our room. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Location is excellent- only a short walk to GWU and the Foggy Bottom metro stop.

United States of AmericaIf felt I would say, antique inside the room, don't get me wrong it was clean and comfy. But kitchen appliances and carpet felt kind of aged.
The location was excellent!! The neighborhood was really nice, and you're within walking distance of Georgetown. Also the room was clean, and the general feeling in the hotel is nice.

IrelandCan’t say there was anything we didn’t like. Only comment was that the kitchen in particular was a little dated. Still functioned well for our 4 night stay.
Super location! A stroll up to Georgetown for brunch or dinner or a spot of shopping. At the same time it was only a few minutes walk to Foggy Bottom metro giving access to the whole city and an easy trip in from Dulles. Staff were very friendly and helpful even in advance of the visit when there was a minor problem with the booking.

United States of AmericaOld building. There’s a signage that AC will be weird and it was. Good thing the weather was cold so we just opened the window to cool down our room. There is no way you can control the thermostat that heats up. Electric fan will not fix the problem as the hotel says so, they need to install split AC if the problem is the piping. No complimentary water.
The location, great shops and restaurants nearby. Staffs are friendly and helpful, we able to cooked small meals with the kitchen facility. Parking is small but safe, you can park at the street, it’s free during weekends, just be mindful with the confusing signages. Good value for the money.

United States of AmericaThe kitchen was important for us, and the oven didn’t really work. It never got hot enough to actually bake anything and there were no pans to use in the oven. It also would have been nice for there to be a phone in the room so that we could call the front desk when we needed things like extra towels and toilet paper.
It was great for a family with three teenagers to be able to spread out in the living area and kitchen! The location was pretty good as well. Being close to universities meant that there were plenty of restaurants, and the metro was about a seven minute walk away.
