Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNot really much. I liked the property. Having a stove, washing machine and dryer was a bonus. Lovely cosy place. The area has good restaurants.
Easy instructions were provided. Communication was prompt, and owner responded to phone calls. Overall happy.

United KingdomIt’s on the 3rd floor— two flights up a rather narrow staircase. While this made the apt really bright and airy, it was a bit of a struggle as we had some heavy baggage on this last leg of our extended trip. This isn’t the fault of the building, of course, but it would have been good to know further in advance so we could have enlisted some help (we’re apparently not as young as we used to be…).
Such a bright, quiet and airy apt.! Two huge magnificent beds (sleigh beds!) with lots of lovely soft pillows, as requested, and crisp ironed sheets. A very comfortable and well-equipped sit-in kitchen, with laundry facilities. The location was perfect for us as my son lives around the corner, but as it’s right near the Columbia Heights Metro station it’s great for tourists too. A nice selection of restaurants, bars and shops in the area. A really pleasant residential block, with excellent security. Communication with the owners was excellent— we had a few issues with our payment method and they were incredibly understanding, helpful and patient. Messages were always responded to almost immediately, even on a holiday. So good to deal with people like this!

United States of AmericaThe only issue was that the motion detector light that was to come on as you climb to the 3rd floor was inconsistent and at times we were trying to punch the code into the door keypad in the dark.
We were only at the 3rd floor apartment to sleep but it was easy to get to and comfortable with a television that worked. The bathroom was small, as expected, but clean. Plenty of towels, soap, etc.

United States of AmericaThe lighting above the stairs could have been better. Some of the lights didn’t come on and it was pretty dark.
Location was good. Good church, grocery store and metro station all short walk away. Lots of restaurants as well but we ate in.

DenmarkOne of the 2 beds was worn-out and not able to sleep in. Furthermore the dryer for clothes was also out of function and not able to use. I got double charged as they couldn't see my first payment, and therefore required me to do another payment. But fortunately I got my second payment refunded without any problems.
Big bright rooms with 2 queen beds and 2 wardrobes. Had our own washing machine and dryer in the apartment. Located in a very nice cozy area with many shops, restaurants and bars nearby.

United States of AmericaThe mattress seems to be worn on one side than the other, so you feel like you are in a little nest; but I am sure flipping the mattress would fix that ;) I couldn't find the cutlery, but I also didn't ask, so that's on me. Other than that, the place is perfect. It was a bit over my budget, but it was so beautiful that I shouldn't complain.
The apartment unit is very close to a metro station (Columbia Heights) which made it really easy to get to the apartment when I arrived at the Union Station in Washington DC. The hosts were really communicative and sent me all the information I needed beforehand, and there were instructions all over the house about what to do or not to do. When I couldn't figure out the washer machine, they were communicating with me until we figured it out. The only thing is that the dryer was not working, but there is a sign that says that one is on its way, so the next guest may be lucky. I was able to hang the clothes from the chairs, and they were dry when I came back later that day :) I never heard a noise or anything from the neighbors or outside, and the apartment is nicely lit and spacious and with wonderful AC units. I loved it. I would definitely come back. Ah! there are also lots of places to get food around (restaurants) and three grocery stores!

United States of AmericaI thought the microwave was a convection microwave oven combination because it said microwave and oven included. There is no place to actually sit down other than the kitchen table, what they should do is go down to one bed and place A sofa bed in front of the TV. It would be perfect with the combo oven and the seating area.

United States of AmericaIt seems that the owner is actively working on improvements, so to be expected that there are some small inconveniences such as not enough spoons, broken handle on the washing machine and microwave although they were still functioning.
Location is great! Easy access to the Metro, close to shopping, relatively safe and very quiet. Full kitchen, able to cook onsite saved lots of money. Host was very sweet and professional. The apartment itself, I felt very safe and comfortable.

The location is excellent, with shops, etc. and Metro around the corner. We enjoyed having the top floor to ourselves. It was VERY clean. The bathroom is small but has a BIG shower. That was nice. Also, there were plenty of pillows, towels, an iron and an ironing board, and well stocked kitchen.

United States of AmericaThe main complaint is that Booking.com said the reservation could be cancelled 3 days before arrival, but the host messaged me right after making the reservation 30 days ahead of arrival, and said their policy was no cancellations permitted, and they blamed Booking.com for advertising the wrong cancellation policy!! Also, the pillows were merely loose stuffing that was over-packed into the pillowcases, making them really hard. The kitchen had no supplies - no paper towels, no laundry detergent, just a few dinner napkins. I contacted the on-site manager who did bring over supplies the next day. The 2 stove elements were not connected but after I connected them they did work.
The bedroom was big and bright with lots of Windows and high ceiling and good lighting. The fridge was clean and worked well and there was ice in the ice trays. The kitchen had a little table & 4 chairs so it was functional. The bathroom was fairly nice although you can't sit on the toilet unless you slide the shower door over out of the way.
