Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaBreakfast was really terrible. If this is a selling point for booking the hotel, it shouldn't be.
Hotel is very well situated - close to great bars, restaurants, and shopping. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean.

United States of AmericaI was very disappointed in the breakfast. Two out of my three mornings, there was hardly anything left to eat (only a few Fruit Loops). I got there with at least an hour left in the breakfast service each time too. The one morning with food left, there were yummy overnight oats, but no toppings left nor utensils. Also, keep in mind you will want to park in a garage in the area and that will add $20-25 dollars/night to your budget.
Great location! You can see Powell's Books from the room. Comfy room for my daughter and me! Great view! Nice to be able to hop downstairs to Stumptown Roasters in the morning.

ItalyThey ask you for a 100 dollars deposit. Breakfast is included but it's very "light". Perhaps my room was a bit too dark.
Clean, supercool interiors, there's security at night.

United States of AmericaI wanted a centrally located hotel at reasonable rates with an appealing environment as a bonus. As an architect I appreciated the attention to detail in the hotel. I found the slight quirkiness to be endearing. Slight flavor of a "youth hostel" but with an upscale spin. We enjoyed our stay. We had made an error in our booking and they were very accommodating to fix that. Great stay.

United States of AmericaThe breakfast included was interesting. The overnight oats were delicious, however, aside from that, there wasn’t much breakfast options other than the occasional orange. I wish they had more options other than the overnight oats. The coffee was okay, but it’s what to be expected as hotel coffee. They had two milk alternatives (almond & oat) which I liked having and plenty of sugar alternatives as well. Overall, the breakfast included was slightly disappointing.
Loved how easy it was to check in the evening, how the lobby was closed after sundown and you needed to be let in, which happened almost immediately after ringing the bell. It was a great stay, really enjoyed the amenities that were given to us and how well stocked our room was with towels.

United KingdomUnfortunately downtown has got a little ropey now, nothing the hotel can do about it and they do everything they can to make you feel safe. We didn’t have any issues around the hotel area

CanadaQuite noisy as far as floor above, noise from outside. The streets in the area are also very dirty. Sidewalks are dirty and smell of urine even close to the hotel main entrance. Lots of transients in the area. Not the hotel’s fault but a problem within the city. Unfortunate because the location is good and the staff excellent.
Close to shopping, restaurants and convenience.

United KingdomThe breakfast needs to be reviewed. For a trendy hotel a few sweet pastries, banana or apple and tea/coffee was not good. There was no yogurt, granola or porridge on the 2 days I was visiting. You would expect some bread and a toaster as minimum. Small rooms with a sink in the room corner, instead of in the bathroom. The staff could have more enthusiasm, but maybe part of Portland laid back vibes!
Bed was a lovely size and comfy. Central location but a-lot if the trendier area’s have moved out from Down Town Portland, but still a good base on your first visit.

NetherlandsOverall it was good- you get the ACE experience.
ACE HOTEL is kind of a cool and funky hotel, not really for the average business traveler. Locations is downtown Portland, there was parking in lots closeby, not from the hotel, but almost no hotel has that downtown. The rooms was a bit smaller than expected, the hotel is old, but renovated in the way all Ace hotels are, old fixtures etc, it is a particular style. The shower was superstrong and hot and nice quality of brand amenities. Bed was comfy. The teenage boys were in a room with a shared bathroom in the hallway, that was a bit messy and very wet (looked like someone took a bath in the shower). Breakfast is a choice of some pastries9vegan possibilities) and good Stumptown coffee and fruit.
