we arrived early to check in and our room wasn’t ready which was totally understandable. we waited and waited and it wasn’t ready until 30 minutes after check in time. they seemed short staffed and flustered.

First floor interior paint and decor needs a facelift. Definitely holds lots of potential to look far better.

Location and the ocean being really close to the property, one can hear the waves from the bedroom. 5/5 stars well done

We loved the location as we had a room with a view of the ocean. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed having a small kitchen area where we could make a simple breakfast or lunch.

The dam fire alarm going off at 10pm for 30mn. Woke up my children. They were so scared they didn’t go to sleep for a few hours after. Had to keep reassuring them that they wouldnt burn in their sleep.

No free breakfast. At a resort you would expect free breakfast for the cost of the room. Since this location has a restaurant the breakfast is not free. Ebb tide/ sailor Jacks are cheaper and have free breakfast.

Staff person at the desk repeatedly gave me the wrong wifi password and did not tell me about the key. I couldnt get on until my friends told me the correct password that evening

Never time when a bunch of kids weren’t in the pool, even in the morning. I wish there could be a 9-11 pm, adults only time.

The smell of some of the hallways was off putting. The restaurant didn’t have many kid/teen friendly options.

Property is old and rooms feel dated but they are remodeling the lobby now. Didn’t like that there was a gap in our room door and when closed you could see right out into the hallway.

Location overlooking coastline was beautiful. Convenient stop along PCH.

The renovations got in the way of some things but not a big deal. Wish there was a snack machine or some more affordable food options for late at night. Pool could stay open later.

The location is great, right on the ocean and the window had beautiful ocean views! Happy that the pool and hot tub were available. They had extra roll away beds and staff was very accommodating even though we forgot to ask for the extra bed until way after check in. Hotel is nice and cozy for couples and families alike and is non assuming. Can't get better than the Pacific ocean right outside your window!

The property needs a refresh; common areas look and smell old. Perhaps due to proximity to the water, main floor rooms have uneven floors. The suite we booked had maintenance needs. I made no fewer than four phone calls trying to ensure we had a suite and an additional room adjacent. We didn't get it, and I was horrified to learn we could have done even worse because our booking/room choice wasn't "locked." Staff apparently had no way to look up room amenities without clicking on every single room, which was frustrating for them as well as me. Then I tried by both email and cellphone text to contact the manager to talk through my concerns...and as of mid-March, I have no response for what was a Christmas booking. I truly hope the property can get its act together better, because it has the location most travelers look for.

This property is like the ho-hum boyfriend or girlfriend you just can't quit. Nothing beats the location. You're at eye level with the waves in the restaurant or breakfast room -- it's amazing. But when you start thinking about what could be better, you realize you're settling. Maybe for the right reasons, but you're settling.

The hotel is currently under construction and things are quite the mess in some areas, and they didn't publicize that very well. Some things are closed off currently, but it does seem that they are working hard to get things back in order. Personally I didn't find it to be too much of an inconvenience, but I spoke with some guests who were just not happy about the mess at all. Personal preferences, and / or expectations, I suppose.

There is no continental breakfast, however breakfast in the restaurant was Fantastic! My wife had the crab Dungeness omelet and I had the corn beef hash and hashbrowns and eggs and toast. Priced decent and was an excellent breakfast! Hostess and waitress were great and friendly! Room was very nice and had lots of space with an incredible view of the Ocean! They have lights on the ocean at night, which made for some easy night viewing of the ocean as well. The trail along the ocean is excellent and provides wonderful and scenic views. I was overall impressed with the entire facility!

Under renos as advertised, but you would think they would run a vacuum in the hallways. Very loud cleaning staff in the hallways.
