Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaHaving to pay an extra charge for parking at $35/ night. Did not see any maid service during our stay of 3 nights… needed to get our own replacement towels.
Very comfortable beds, clean, friendly staff and close to shopping and restaurants. The help was very helpful in recommending fantastic restaurants!

United States of AmericaAwesome little community lounge. Really neat draft hot and cold coffee station. Complimentary baskets of goods and supplies and snacks. Also the self check in is the easiest. And the Inn is located in a historical building that also hosts a theater/showroom venue.

United States of AmericaBed was uncomfortable, but linens were super soft. Shower and sink drain were very slow-tub filled when showering.
Nice and quiet, great location. A bit of a hassle to feed meter on the street, but better than $35 a nite to park. Worked out fine.

United States of AmericaHonestly everything was cozy and nice. No hair dryer but I travel with one. It would be fun if the tap had beer vs nitro coffee. LOL
The location is fantastic to explore Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. The Inn offers a parking package for additional fee which is very convenient. This was a repeat visit. Quiet traditional rooms. Neat little lobby with coffee/tea/water and little snacks/granola bars 24/7. There are books on local history, tourist info and games. Very cozy when your fellow traveler is napping or not awake yet. Highly recommend.

United States of Americawas a little surprised that there was no daily maid service. Congregations of people on the street opposite the hotel were a disturbance I could have done without. The voices carry through open windows and are jarring at 5:30 to 6:30 in the morning.
Didn't need the car to get to most attractions, restaurants, museums, cruises, etc. Coffee service was excellent and a nice touch.

United States of AmericaIt was quite genius to create a space for guests in the brick building that houses rooms. The room was simple and clean but had a college dorm room feel as far as quality of bed, desk, lighting and appliances for the price. It was a little awkward that check in desk was situated in a "closet" .
The location was perfect. Staff was accommodating, friendly and professional even though they hold business hours-not available in late evening. The one room sitting area was cute and as pictured.

United States of AmericaThe Inn was perfectly located in the heart of the shopping and restaurants. It shares space with the Repertory Theater which is very convenient if you want to catch a show. The staff was easy to contact via phone or text as the key to the room is digital through an app. The woman I spoke with was friendly, helpful, and made sure we got into our room without any trouble. I would definitely stay at this property again!

United States of AmericaThe elevator was not working, but they were trying to repair it while we stayed there. The stairs were very steep and it was difficult to get our luggage up to the room. I'm sure it will be fine when the elevator is repaired. Room was small but it was a great value for the money.
The location was prime! You can walk everywhere you want to go. There are many great restaurants, bars and shopping nearby.
