Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It is not handicap accessible as there are stars to the downstairs rooms as well as upstairs. They charged me $100 service dog fee for the first 2 nights that was $50 per night when the email that I got said $25 per night. They are not pet friendly they even have a sign in the office no pets allowed but you will be charged $25 per night for your pet. The owner is allergic to dogs but didn't tell me that. I will never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to any one who is in a wheelchair.

The location was a little sketchy not too bad but a little bit sketchy. The parking was very difficult because the bottom of the car scraped pretty bad. But that’s because of the street more than the parking spaces
There was no smoke smell in the room the room is very clean the floors had no carpet which was perfect. All around it was a good place to stay

I was 100% satisfied with my stay.

Furnishing was very poor, the neighbourhood seemed suspicious, everything was not like it said in the description - especially the rooms were not clean, no view & no balcony. Had to wait 15min to check in, because of a internet problem. Would not recommend, didn’t feel safe and it’s not worth your money.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. I was traveling solo from the east coast to the west coast and stayed at little hotels along the way. For the price, this place had all you need. Clean, safe, and quiet. Just blocks away from night life, restaurants, and casinos. If you’re looking for a cheaper place to stay but also want to remain safe and have a clean place to lay your head, this is it.

The manager/owner messing with our doorknob early in the morning. My wife asked him what he was doing and he said our door was hanging open in the night so he was just checking it. I checked the door before we went to bed and it was as secure as I could make it. There's no way that door was hanging open in the middle of the night!

The room was very warm when we arrived and it took 2 hours to cool down to where it was comfortable. It’s an older place, but we knew at that price that it likely was.
This was a clean room where e could get a good ‘s sleep before heading to California. No frills.

The inn is very quiet and very clean. It's an older place, but the room is very clean, bed is comfortable, with a fridge and microwave. At this price point it's a great deal. It's located off the main road and at the end of a residential street, so no traffic noise. The owner is very nice and even brought me some ice for my cooler when I told him I was driving all day!

The owner takes great effort in making the place clean, comfortable and welcoming. He stands up to bullies not fearing getting a bad review. It's also very quiet.

There was no balcony or family room no tub just a shower with no shampoo the towels were also faded and lobby smelled bad
