Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

They do need to check rooms. There was no coffee pot in my room but there was coffee to make. Also if you are going to offer smoking rooms there needs to be ashtrays.

Invest in Pillows!! King bed had 4 lumpy sofa cushion sized "pillows". Invest in standard height toilets!!!! Even the handicap room had super low toilet and they provided a strap on seat riser. Gross. Upgrade plumbing. Shower was scalding no matter how it was adjusted. Pool was drained and filthy. North Carolina. Summer.
Good air conditioning. Some recent looking updates like bathroom tiling, carpet and bed spreads

The shower needs repair. It worked, it had pressure and was hot. Eventually the mechanism that switches from tub to shower will fail completely.
I liked that you are able to bring back the breakfast. It would be nice if the items had more of a selection.

Room and bathroom were small but functional.
This hotel was above average from what I typically see in this price range. Location was great for seeing the historical districts. The swimming pool was open.

I was told over the phone by the young lady who answered the phone at the motel in Edenton that my will would be $84.00 with an AARP discount. But the gentleman charged me over $100.00. With no discount. There were roaches in the room and part of the finish on the tub was gone.
On Facebook itvindicated there was a breakfast but when we got there there was no breakfast so we had to go to another spot to find breakfast in Edenton.

Bed was very hard and the frame was made of sheet metal that sounded like thunder if we moved. Stucco in the bathroom and around the sink was peeling.
Room was clean and did not smell of cleaning agents. We were able to get a 1st floor room as requested. Rate was reasonable. Front desk was friendly.

The pillows were flat and mattress thin. Two doors down there were people tailgating outside their room and they were loud. The clerk was unfriendly and there was no breakfast.
It was in a good and safe location. it was not updated but still it seemed clean.

This was our second visit to this motel. Our first room (1st visit) was much better. This second room (#109) seemed dirty. The sheets and towels had stains, and there was "dirt" in between the fitted and top sheet. The AC isn't up-to-date and struggled to cool off the room. If our neighbor a complained of the TV level, its because it didn't go any lower no matter how much we turned it down. Covid once again shut down the amenities and breakfast, there was no compensation for that loss.
Convenience to the location of why we needed an over night stay. Staff was incredibly friendly and kind, we felt very welcomed.

The place would have more appeal if the clutter was removed (example, old mattresses stacked up in the back and near the pool area, dusting the furniture and new bedspreads and pillows.
The location met our needs; the front desk person was very pleasant and helpful.

The television was fuzzy.
I specifically liked that the room was clean this time . I will always stay and request the room 218.. the staff was great and helpful . The king bed was very comfortable

Not sure if it had changed management since my stay last year, but the continental breakfast was seriously lacking. The room was tidy and clean, though the shower head could use replacing.
It was nice going back to somewhere I was familiar with the area and it was close proximity to the event I was at.

Staff was awesome. They are remodeling yet they were very considerate of the noise level. We are those "nasty" smokers and it was great to actually sit in the room instead of my car! Thank you to the folks in Edenton!!

Since they've reopened their breakfast area from the Covid closure, it isn't the same. Our last visit it was lacking the waffle station. This visit, they did have the proper condiments to go on the waffles. Ps. Styrofoam plates melt when you put hot foods on them. Becareful about using them. The shower plumbing could use updating.
The staff were wonderful. I had locked myself out of the room and they were right on top of assisting me. No judgment or unnecessary questioning.
