Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We had ants in our room, a lot. Breakfast could have been better; gravy for biscuits was barely lukewarm, boiled eggs were awful.

The location had one flaw - it's located near an elementary school. This made leaving in the morning difficult and turning left out of the property almost impossible. The towels were also a bit dingy and stained.
It was affordable, quiet, and effective for a one night stay. The location was secluded and felt secure. The room met my needs overall. The staff were helpful and efficient in check in and check out.

Elevator...pregnant lady, but we did get a room on the 1st floor so that balanced it out!

The room, although clean was a little tired and old looking. I didn’t see the cookies they usually have. One of the waffle makers and juice machine didn’t work. Also the laundry facilities were out of order.
The staff were excellent. Always helpful and nice! The location was perfect for visiting my grandsons! The breakfast was good with a nice variety of food to pick from.

it’s next to train tracks, we personally didn’t mind the noise but some people might.
great location close to Walmart and multiple food places. pet friendly. staff were nice and helpful.

our room was adjacent to … actively used railroad tracks! Breakfast was good, not great. Breakfast was however included in the price of the room (whether you partake or not, which is usually the case in the industry) Also, pay attention to the mini-fridge if you use it. it is turned down to conserve energy. You may need to turn it up. Otherwise it was a good stay.
Lobby and Dining areas were very nice. Cable TV had plenty to watch. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking.

Remodeling, so a little construction debris and the fitness area wasn't available for use.
The location was a short distance from many attractions. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

We know it can't be helped because the train track runs beside it, at least they don't blow the whistle in the middle of the night.
We normally stay once a month on business. It has always been clean. We chose queen beds this time and they were more comfortable than the king.

The property is right next to train tracks and we could hear and feel each train go by. The tv was very disappointing in its operation and selection. Shower head blasted the water so it was not a relaxing shower. Breakfast was ok.
Comfortable bed and friendly staff. Near the battlefield. Room was clean as was the facility.

It was a much busier stay this month which was good for business, alot more noise; excited kids and talking people.

Unfortunately, we have haven't slept on a comfortable mattress. If you like a firm mattress, you will enjoy your visit. Breakfast needs improvement. Staff wasn't very friendly.
We stay normally once a month on business trips. It has always been clean, our room looked like it had been updated. Great shower and normally quiet other than an occasional train which we've gotten used to.

As many times as we have stayed, can't seem to get a comfortable bed, very firm mattress. The shower sprayed like a sand blaster, could be painful at times.
Room was clean, normally always quiet because it sits off the main road.
