Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI would have liked a coffee maker in the room. It had a really cool decor and the bar area was excellent! Close to the water edge.
The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had. Very good quality fruit and the accommodations were great!

United States of AmericaWhen booking, if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is more quiet than some of the rooms. It is in the middle of a very busy city, so noise is expected.
The hotel is beautiful, with deep history, and has been restored with love and care to respect its history. We liked the hotel and staff very much, and will most likely return on our next visit to Seattle.

ItalyAmazing hotel in an historic building, full of charme, in the heart of Downtown Seattle. Walking distance to waterfront and all the attractions. The staff is kind, nice and very helpful. We enjoyed a complimentary buffet breakfast, that was great! We stayed there for 6 nights, room was clean, roomy, quiet and we slept very well. Cocktails at the Polar Bar are simply amazing! Security service is good, we alwalys felt comfortable.

United States of AmericaCommunication about pet needs could be more streamlined. The hotel didn’t know we were bringing our dogs even though I had specifically booked with a pet friendly room. The whole property is pet friendly, but somehow the booking didn’t translate that to the hotel staff ahead of time.
Everything we needed was available on site.

What an amazing place to stay (or even just visit for cocktails!) - it's like walking into a piece of living history but without losing any of the conveniences of modern life! The staff were superb from the security guard who helped us in with our bags to the staff on reception being topped only by the bar staff who were simply amazing!

United States of AmericaIt's not the hotel's fault, but there are lots of homeless people on the street, and lots of late night sirens from the police station a block away. Also kind of a bummer to view the trash filled vacant lot across the street.
Very cool historic hotel with lots of fun details and friendly staff. Free breakfast was a nice bonus! Spacious, comfortable rooms.

CanadaThe only thing that was a real disappointment was the breakfast. Honestly... it was depressing. It didn't match the feel of the rest of the hotel at all. The food was average but the ambiance... was terrible. I wish it was located somewhere else. It needs a remodel for sure.
Loved the feel of the hotel, it was so charming and the rooms were a lot bigger than I expected! Staff was friendly and kind. Loved the bar area with the pool table.

CanadaThe staff at this hotel were truly exceptional. Not only is the hotel itself unique and beautiful, with a captivating historic charm, but the level of customer service surpassed any experience I've had at other hotels. The staff went above and beyond to assist me, providing valuable information about popular dining spots, entertainment options, and more. Additionally, the valet parking service was simple and convenient, adding to the overall seamless experience. I would gladly choose to stay here again in the future.

Hong KongThe location is convenient for the train station, but too far for the convention center. At night, the surrounding area also feels a bit dangerous and I was hesitant to walk alone. Also, the American practice of hiding all sorts of hidden fees and taxes is infuriating. Each night as this hotel will be at least 30% more expensive than advertised, which feels deceptive. Booking.com should include all the relevant costs upfront!
It's a charming historic hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is actually delicious, which is rare. The front desk also accommodated an especially late checkout for me, which was extremely helpful.
