Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing, we knew where and what we have booked and it was just great.
Great room with more space than we expected and an amazing view. Lovely new hotel, that exceeded expectations. Nice facilities, enjoyed the roof top bar too.

CanadaI booked my room through booking.com and upon check in, realized I did not have a city view room despite thinking I booked one online. The hotel, realizing the mistake and my disappointment, quickly offered me a second room with the view I was hoping for on my second night. I must have misunderstood the room I booked so my only advice would be to double check your view (because the city room is 100% worth it) and if you have any questions to call the hotel directly to confirm!
The Arlo Midtown is the best hotel in New York. I stay here every chance I can and the hospitality, service and amenities blow me away every time. The staff is generous, accommodating, delightfully humorous and at risk of sounding creepy, all extremely good looking. I stayed here for my 30th birthday with my husband and the Arlo pulled out all the stops. It's a hotel that once you arrive you don't want to leave. Between the stunning city views, fabulous water pressure in the showers, good vibes of their upstairs patio and their newly renovated interior restaurant with some of the best cocktails I've ever had, it's a true gem. And if you think you've found the best home fries in NYC, you're incorrect. They're at the Arlo Midtown. I will take no notes.

AustriaThe only downside was the lack of a buffet breakfast, but the hotel still offered delicious breakfast options.
Our stay at this hotel was simply fantastic! The central location near the subway and many nearby shops was perfect. The Times Square was just around the corner, making our exploration of the city very convenient. We could easily walk to many sights and had everything we needed right at our doorstep. The proximity to various restaurants and shopping options was also very convenient. Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. They provided me with great tips for restaurants and attractions in the area. All in all, I highly recommend the hotel and would gladly return at any time.

CanadaThis hotel was one of the best hotels I've ever been in. It gives you a feeling of high-end, updated and contemporary NYC vibe. It was so cool seeing an elevator operated by your room card. This room came with 2 complimentary canned water and fortune cookies which I very much enjoyed. The front desk staff was SO cool and nice. He told us about other Arlo hotels in Manhattan and in Europe somewhere. I'm planning on visiting other Arlo hotels in the future.

NetherlandsWe had an extended wait for the check in, which on a cold and wet day wasn’t appreciated even with a free coffee. The shower flooded the bathroom floor, even after asking for this to be looked at. There was no fridge in the room, the cooling box wasn’t connected and didn’t keep items cold. Small things that didn’t detract overall.
We really liked the aesthetic and design of the interior of the hotel, a high end feel. We had a spacious and comfortable room, great bed. Very much enjoyed the gym, very clean and well maintained. Very close to Penn Station which was great for onward travel!

United KingdomRoom quite snug but expected in manhattan. I would have appreciated some form of room guide (this may have been online and I missed it) as I didn’t find the safety deposit box until I was leaving (it was concealed in a drawer under the bed). Although I didn’t mind, some people may not like being able to hear noise from the rooftop bar if they are in a room on 26. Also if flying from JFK leave plenty of time. Took me nearly 2 hours to get back there in a taxi as the west side of midtown is incredibly congested. This was at 2:30pm.
Clean, fresh and well located for the conference centre (15 mins walk), really enjoyed my stay. Thankfully had breakfast included in the room rate as this was of a very high standard. Would work out quite expensive if you paid daily. Loved the rooftop bar and cocktails (right next to my room on 26). Also good small shop and bar on ground floor. I particularly liked the bathroom products and the inclusion of a clothes steamer rather than an iron. Also mini fridge a great addition. All of the staff very friendly and helpful 😊.
