Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt is an older property and shows some wear, especially the carpet in the room.
The bed was comfortable and the room was a nice size. The room decorations were cute.

United States of AmericaThe door was hard to open and close. I could hear people in the morning opening and closing their doors as they left for breakfast or packed up to check out, having a room by the stairs. Everyone had an outside entrance.
The property was nice and clean. Easy to get to and park. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was convenient. I wish it was a little bigger, but just bagels and English muffins with cereal and fruit.

United States of AmericaCeramic tile floors were freezing, make sure to bring slippers!
Hotel personnel were very friendly & helpful. We had a reservation for a queen room on the second floor. When checking in the desk clerk saw my husband’s knee brace and offered us a free upgrade to a queen w/kitchenette on the first floor. Bath towels, hand towels & wash cloths were thick towels not the thin/flimsy towels we’ve experienced in more expensive hotels. Continental breakfast was sufficient: coffee, tea, creamers, sweeteners, bagels, cream cheese, nutrigrain bars, danish, chocolate & regular milk and more.

United States of AmericaOnce to the rooms, you realize that no remodeling or updating has been done probably since the original construction. Faded carpets, towel racks not properly secured to the wall, closed weight room, etc. Everything looked like it was from the late 70's or early 80's. If you are expecting modern hotel feel this is not it. If you are wanting the old world stylings from the outside to continue to the inside, then this is the place for you. The bed was comfortable though!
When you first drive up the place looks really neat. It has that old world Holland look with a windmill and stylings. The check-in process was easy and the staff were helpful and friendly. Parking is easy and the distance to our intended reason for staying in Oak Harbor was great.

United States of AmericaThe rooms are a bit older, with older AC and bathroom fans that run loud. There was some mildew in the bathroom, it wasn't too bad, but if people are sensitive to it I would recommend checking ahead of time.
It was a very cozy room with nice thick walls so I couldn't hear other guests, a comfortable bed, and good wifi to do some last minute business work with. The staff was very friendly, and the location was convenient. I would definitely go back!

Excellent staff! This place reminds me of something from childhood road trips where we beg our dad to stay! Unfortunately charming inns such as this one are being replaced by metal box type hotel chains. This place had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

United States of AmericaThe chair and carpet could use a good cleaning. The door could use some touch-up paint. The bed was okay, but definitely squeaked a lot, so I'm guessing it's in need of a replacement due to age. The room we were in was a bit drafty and the door could use a better seal on the bottom to keep the air out. It was also a bit noisy due to the proximity to the main road and being the first unit by the front desk.
The cost, the convenience/location. The place looked very charming with its windmill aesthetic. Having a microwave and mini fridge was nice. The room was adequate for our needs.
