We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United States of AmericaThe “pillow top” mattress was a let down! First it was the wrong size for the mattress. (Queen on a king) secondly not very plush. Also, it would have been nice to have some instructions for the Heat/air system. (I had to googled it to watch a video) Screens on the sliders would be nice.
The breakfast was fine. However, the staff all came in and made themselves breakfast after that all the strawberries were gone. (This was at 8:30 there was still 2 hours of breakfast to be served) I was told that delivery day was the next day. As a manager if you know this you tell your staff to save them for the paying guests. (I did actually see multiple staff eating them) We did enjoy the coffee/hot chocolate machine!!

The location of Avania Inn is conveniently located within a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach and pier. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, waffles, etc). Staff was friendly and helpful. The room had 3 queen beds which was great for a family of 4.

United States of AmericaNone at all. I have stayed in more than 14 hotels just this year 2023. I have given positive and negative reviews to some hotels. As for this one, I can't think of one. Perhaps it will be great if the hotel can have a laundromat room in the hotel for guests stay for many days (like us). I spoke to the management, and they are aware of it. Due to their small premise, they provide laundry service instead. They do have a swimming pool, that I guess good for family with kids. It's not a huge issue as there is a close by laundromat that I can drive to (about 5 min away) and drop our laundry for cleaning. This, however, is not something I don't like. This is a fabulous hotel! Clean, strategic location, friendly and professional management, and staff. Breakfast that fills the guests up. Cookies anytime of the day. Coffee/tea too. No complains at all!
Love everything about Avania! 1. Lori, Jacob, Dany, Christain are all so so friendly and warm. They even offered to bring anything we need, if we need, to our table, at breakfast, but we chose not to, as they have done above what they are expected to do. 2. They make sure we are all well taken care of when we stayed there. 3. We have been staying at this hotel each time when we visit Santa Barbara. Easily minimum 4 visits this year alone. My husband once stayed in another close by hotel and he was disappointed with that hotel. Since then, he has no intent to look at other hotels. He just continues to book this hotel each time when he visits Santa Barbara for work. 4. Love love love the cookie available throughout the day. Beware - that can be fattening but it's so so good! My husband has to stop me from grabbing them each time when we return from our trip out in the afternoon. ^_^ 5. Everyone works in the hotel is so attentive to cleanliness. Even the housekeepers are friendly.
