Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaStay was great! I can't think of anything negative or unsatisfactory with our stay.
House and room were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was wonderful and well prepared and presented. Everything about our stay was exceptional. Parking was free and safe and historic district was within walking distance. I highly recommend the Baer House as a place to stay and enjoy Vicksburg.

United States of AmericaUm the only thing I can think of is the scenery from the house like the river and the hills. We did not have any, but we were not there for that (we have one where we live). We wanted a quiet place to rest from the day-to-day hustle and bustle of our lives, which worked for us.
We stayed two nights. The hosts were great! Friendly and only in gauged with us if we asked questions and at breakfast. Breakfast was great! Just enough to get your day started. We had protein, carb and fruit with coffee and orange juice. The walk from the house to downtown was a short walk but for people that does not walk much, like us was a little longer and harder. HILLS! If you are a history buff this, is it. The house has a mixture of old and new history that is place together in a way that works! O and they have a pool table that you can play on, which my husband beat me three times... They also have a library that you can sit and read. The house was very quiet from the street noise. Thank you for a quick and quiet getaway! PS the host is an author. I am reading one of her books that I purchased. So far it is great! Ask her about her books.

United States of AmericaIt did not bother us, but others may have an issue with having to carry their baggage up a very tall staircase.
Proximity to tourist attractions & places to eat. Private parking. Excellent breakfast served as part of the stay. Wife loved the ambience of the facility. Art, books and all the decorative features.

United States of AmericaThe immediate neighborhood was a little rundown but that might be because Vicksburg is an old town.
This property was exceptional in its décor and old Southern charm. The bedroom with its sitting area was very large and comfortable. I needed a step stool to get into and out of the bed because I am short and it was tall! The dining room was spectacular with a long table, beautifully set with crystal and silver for our breakfast which was cooked as we sat down--cinnamon and pumpkin spice pancakes, fruit and bacon. The art in the dining room was also spectacular.

United States of AmericaNo complaints or suggestions.
Breakfast was fabulous and was very fun to talk with other guests and the owners at the dining table. The Inn is historic and beatiful, and the owners were fantastic. Room rate was incredibily reasonable. While the description says you may have to share a bathroom, we did not, and only a couple rooms have to do that (not that that would bother me).

United States of AmericaWe loved staying in this well-maintained and thoughtfully updated historic home. The private, off-street parking leads to a back porch where the innkeeper greeted us, and led us inside to retrieve our room key and tell us about the house amenities as well as recommendations for area activities and dining. We stayed in a lovely room called The General, which is one of the rooms with a private bath. The bedrooms have mini-split air conditioning units, and The General has a ceiling fan as well; we were very comfortable despite the late summer heat. Coffee service began at 7 a.m. and breakfast was served at 8:30. The hosts were attuned to the specific dietary needs of their guests and, while we did not have any restrictions, I observed other guests being accommodated graciously. Around the large dining table we enjoyed conversation with couples from the US, UK, and Denmark, one of the unique delights of stying at a small inn. We wished we had been able to arrive earlier and stay longer to enjoy more time in the parlor/library and den, and to enjoy another lovely breakfast.
