Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Bring earplugs!! Also may want to bring your own soap, shampoo & there isn’t a hair dryer in the room.

Doesn't look like it's been updated in a while, somewhat dingy decor, floors. Glad I had a private room with bath for my short stay. Could use one more smaller bedside lamp.
Very no frills check-in with a location (and parking underground!) that can't be beat. Just about right for a short term stay like mine.

There was absolutely NO hot water! I wanted to shower and after 20 minutes only tepid water was available. So, I passed on the cold/tepid shower. I suggest that you can’t save on your gas/electrical bill if people are running the water for half hour all for naught.
The staff there are awesome. Very helpful yet professional. Banana Bungalow has a very hip atmosphere, free drinks and usually free BBQ! “HOW DO THEY DO IT!??!”.

Constant trickling water from hot tap on bathroom.

Breakfast ran out very quickly so had to get there early. Very noisy at weekends. Air conditioning was just a fan. Rooms don't get cleaned while you're there.
Excellent location, spacious rooms, good price, helpful staff. Nice to have fridge/microwave and free coffee and pastries in the morning.

La qualité du petit déjeuner.
The place is correct, with basic comfort: good beds, clean bathroom, hot water with good pressure. The stuff is nice. We had a chance to have fun at one of their parties: good mood and free drinks à suggested.

Little old and out of date, wifi was spotty and was 30 mins minimum from stuff you might wanna see like Hollywood or Pasadena

I got a private room with private bathroom for my wife and me but it was not very clean and the bathroom smelled kind of bad. For one night it was ok but I wouldn't stay there again.
Very good location and parking in the property (need to reserve before and it was 11 dollars/night). They serve coffee, croissants and cookies in the morning.

The rooms were very muggy, I wish there was AC. The fans only did the job for a bit. And also I wish there was breakfast and food served. Covid is over and I wish we got breakfast for the price we paid.
I loved the amazing people I met, the space brought together so creatives. I love the location as well

it was just fine for the price. it’s not fancy or plush but you get what you pay for!
this place is awesome for the price! friendly staff, big common areas to mingle and meet people, decent room (we had a private room and it was just fine), $11 daily parking rate (reserve with front desk). decent location that’s sort of central, has some shopping nearby.

The immediate area outside hostel is poor in that there’s litter everywhere. For the sake of a couple of hours I’d get staff to go tidy it up because when we were dropped off by Uber we saw all the litter first and were shocked how it looked.
Cheap and cheerful. That’s why we booked and that’s what we got.

the room/bathroom wasn’t super clean but knowing that it is a hostel we still felt comfortable.
We booked a private room and even had a balcony. That was very nice for the evenings. Staff was always friendly and helpful when we had questions. excellent location with attractions and points of interests close by.

Amazing staff and super friendly people over there. It was my first time staying in a hostel and this exceeded my expectatipns. It can get a little noisy at night but it's not bad. The kitchen was really nice and bigger than I expected.

The staff required proof we were leaving LA the day of check out. Also insisted on a passport, not US state issued ID.
