Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaOverall the environment and the ease of living. The nature at the location is beautiful with lots of birds and some very friendly brahma chickens walking around. It is not very far from the airport or many important locations and has a small town vibe.

United States of AmericaThe Banyon Tree entrance lies on a curve from the street which is surrouded by trees and shrubs. It is difficult to find. If possible, having better notice of the property would help customers. Although, keeping it secluded may be your desire.
The property is beautiful with flowering shrubs and trees, and a relaxing outdoor swimming pool. We loved the continental breakfasts which made our day.

United States of AmericaWe were so lucky to find this little gem of a place. Banyan Tree is peaceful, beautiful, and had everything we needed. The owner, Helaina, was gracious and quick to answer any question or issue we had. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and inviting. The location is close to everything you would want to do in east Maui (nothing more than a 20 min drive). We can't wait to return!

United States of AmericaThe Banyan Tree B&B is a peaceful, beautiful property that was perfect for relaxing. The property is about 20 minutes from the airport/city, and yet less than a mile from a small town with shopping and restaurants. We found it convenient to visit Haleakala Summit and the Road to Hana. Helena was very friendly, and we loved the room

GermanyCalm and beautiful oasis a little bit away from the great touristic resorts. Breakfast is included and the private owners really care about the guests. A great place with a pool, a jacuzzi and a lot of space to relax together with the two "hairy" roosters. Although it takes a little bit to some touristic locations on Maui (still usually less than an hour by car), you have everything you need in Makawao close by or a little further in Paia. The advantage of the upcountry location is that it is a really good starting point for the must do trips to Hana and Haleakala, which saves you some time in the morning :P

United States of AmericaIt was easy to miss the place because the sign was rather small and the entrance to the property is around a curve if going west on Baldwin.
If you like the serenity of the countryside, this place won’t disappoint. Breakfast was more than enough to last until lunch. The place was surrounded with lots of big trees, beautiful shrubs and flowers. I like that it feels secluded yet it’s only a few minutes drive to the town center. Another plus is the free parking.

United States of AmericaWas a little sad we couldn't Hot tub on one rainy night, but understandable. As it does cost a lot to heat the Hot Tub.
The breakfast that they leave for you was amazing and was even provided when we had an early tour. Even when we said they didn't need to bring it. It was left outside our door at 7:30am. Her daughter makes the banana bread. I normally am not a fan of Banana Bread. This was amazing! so good. I ate it every time it came in the basket. All Around Excellent! Heliana was so accommodating, she went above an beyond and it was greatly appreciated. She is very friendly! place is beautiful, and nice size room. She provided some missing items from our room right away. And even when things were outside her control, like power outages she provided a flash light ASAP. I will stay here again and have already recommended this place to a few friends. Short driving distance to the closest beach. I can't say enough good about this place and mine and my friends stay.

United States of AmericaI am a tea drinker and I would’ve appreciated if the electric hot water kettle was stainless steel or glass as opposed to plastic. I don’t like heating water in plastic because it leeches into your water.
The breakfast was so yummy! Everything was absolutely ideal and the location for us was perfect. The pool is so nice and has a gorgeous view for sunset. It was a huge plus that it was a saltwater pool because I don’t want to dip my baby in chlorine. The fuzzy footed chickens are so fun for kids to play with too!

AustraliaThere was an old AC in our room so it is a shame it doesn’t seem to work anymore. The hot tub was currently not working which was a bit unfortunate because we definitely would have used it.
The accommodation was very quiet. The room is good in size but only has a fan and despite the cooler nights and breeze sometimes the room still remained a bit warm for sleeping. The pool area is lovely. The breakfast delivered to your room had a large selection and a lot of food- we even got some the night before on a day we were leaving early. There was a washing machine and dryer- the washer was free to use and laundry powder was provided which was great for a longer stay. The location is great for heading to Haleakala and the Road to Hana, and the local town whilst only having a few restaurants had some great options.
