Breakfast Cafe options left a lot to be desired. We had to drive into town to get a proper breakfast.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff was extodinary... Proactive by calling us beforehand to coordinate arrival time. Super helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It is obvious that it has been renovated. Very nicely done.

The only option for breakfast was to pay at their cafe. The food was ok but a bit of a canteen feel about the atmosphere here. Otherwise you had to drive into Custer which isn't ideal.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities were lovely after a busy day - hot tub and pool.

Restaurant is closed after 11 am. We checked out after one night and left for home to beat the weather. We didn’t get any refund because we registered for two nights and both nights were charged upfront.

Nice room though at first they had us on the upper level which is only accessible by stairs which we would have had a difficult time negotiating. We asked for the lower floor and they were accommodating. Property is laid out well. Restaurant is on the property and has great breakfast food. Very friendly.

Staying here felt like I was staying at summer camp for adults! There’s games, a pickle ball court, placed to walk, near many trails and attractions, a cookie Happy Hour and a heated pool.

We had a ground floor room and the people that stayed right above us seemed to be walking around quite a bit for some reason until pretty late into the night and it was a little noisy at times, but that is no fault of the hotel itself.

We loved staying here, staff was wonderful and room was very nice and clean the entire hotel is very charming, I heard they even served fresh baked cookies in the afternoon but we were never around at that time to try them out, would definitely stay here again!

Lock on door could be more secure. Door to building should also require room key for security also.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Common areas are clean and very nicely decorated. Room was also clean and well decorated. Great to have cookies and milk in afternoon. Great restaurant adjacent to parking lot for breakfast - quick bite or a hearty breakfast - your choice.

The price.

We stayed at this hotel because Booking.com managed to book us into a hotel which does not exist (The Ponderosa in Custer). Apparently they will refund us the difference in the costs between the two hotels, because booking the Bavarian Inn on the day of the Custer round-up was not cheap. On the plus side this is a wonderful hotel, great staff, swimming pool, jacuzzi, games, milk and cookie time in the afternoon, great room, comfortable bed, alas we had to be up at 4am for the round-up so missed breakfast.

Both of us had a hard time sleeping in their Nectar memory foam mattress. It’s hard to move and roll over once the body sinks into the bed couple inches. If you love memory foam beds, this is your place. If you need a bed with support, this is not your place.

Wonderful place to stay with all the amenities. They pay attention to all the little details right down to quality coffee in our room. The pools and pickleball court was great! The housekeeper has been there 30 years and the staff goes the extra mile.

There was nothing to dislike at all.

Loved the location, close to Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore. Loved being close to the shops and post office so I could easily mail postcards.
