Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe unit is right beside a busy road and with the AC unit needing to be placed in an open window the noise from the street is very loud. That along with very thin walls, upstairs neighbours walking around all night, and the window blinds not blocking a lot of light made it hard to sleep. The mattress was also on a very weak piece of plywood and pretty hard/ uncomfortable.
We liked the location and the keyless 24/7 access. Hosts were easy to reach and there are lots for parking not far from the unit. Check out process was easy and good value. The unit was clean and had all the basic amenities we could need like soap, shampoo, and a little kitchenette space.

United States of AmericaThe shared bathrooms are a tad weird - I knew about them before booking but actually experiencing it was different. There was also no mirrors in the rooms at all?... A mirror at Walmart is $10 that they could supply for rooms. and I do think the unit needs to be updated.
I loved the location. The bed was very comfortable as well.

LithuaniaThe property was very noisy and it is not only about the fact that it is located near a busy street. I was woken up several times by people who were partying in their rooms—no sound isolation in the rooms whatsoever. The shower was not clean, there was hair everywhere, covering the walls of the shower room. The next day the har stuck on the walls of the shower was still there. The trash cans for used toiletries/toilet paper were not cleaned for several days, there were used toilet paper on the floor, that was only removed after the second day.
The room was cleaned before arrival. The bedding was changed and cleaned. The location is good and the property representative provided detailed information how to reach the property.

United States of AmericaThe room was dusty. The base boards have not been cleaned in some time. The amount of towels were inadequate for the length of our stay. The property is showing serious signs of wear and tear. I believe whoever did the renovation work was unskilled: wall paper hangers and tile workers did poor jobs.
What breakfast ? No breakfast was served as far as I know. The location was convenient. It wa the best thing about the property.

PolandShared bathroom was an obstacle, but for a budget hotel you can expect that :)
I've been traveling long, so I missed my email with key code to the door. Before entering I had to find a way to read my emails. Would be probably better if the first email could at least tell WIFI password.

United States of AmericaThe door has two locks. The passcode can unlock the lower one, but you have to hold the two doorgrabs to open the door. I paid attention to only the lower doorgrab so that it took me a lot of time to open the door. The design is very inconvenient to tenants. You can hear the talk from the neighbor units. The unit was transformed from a residential house by partitioning the rooms. Each room became a new unit.
No breakfast is available. The location is good. Close to Chinatown and the South Station.

JapanI've never seen any housing staff in the hotel. In my room, there was no chair. I'd asked to bring one several times on the net. The online staff said that they asked to bring a chair to housekeeper every time I asked, but any chair never came to my room. So I have to stay in the room without chair. It was quite bad for me.
It is close to a station, and convenient.

United States of AmericaRoom was much smaller than expected, there was a massive A/C unit that took up space and was extremely loud (thankfully I didn’t need it), there was no accommodation for my bag after the 11 am checkout time and no one to directly speak to.
It was a quick walk from main streets/metro, bed was comfortable, Place was clean.

IrelandA warning that there’s no lift. Dragging a suitcase up 4 flights of stairs was awful. The confusion on the day of arrival in relation to getting the codes. Having to email passport and credit card details is not secure. The shared bathroom was filthy. Air con unit was basically pushing out warm air.

United States of AmericaDetails were not provided prior to the booking. I am now staying at Charlesmark Hotel (less costly) perfect location, room with is immaculate, 2 sets of towels (large, hand, face cloths) bath mat, bottled water just everything. I absolutely love the accommodations at the Charlesmark. I am recuperating from catching a slight cold at 143 Arlington St. At the Charlesmark Hotel there is heat, wonderful shower clean, clean lavatory etc.
There was no breakfast, no bottled water, no cups, the room was frigid cold and requested a refund of $125 from Booking.com

GermanyThe pictures of the room do not match up to the actual state of the room. Doesn’t seem to be properly maintained. There is a gap by the window which is covered by ducktape, mould on window, cold air continuously came in through the gap. The picture of the bathroom on booking also does not match up to the actual shared bathroom on the second floor which guests use.
Staff were very responsive and helpful. Location is really good. The bed was comfortable and clean. Sufficient towels provided.

United KingdomThere was no lock on the door of the bathroom next to the kitchen. This would be a simple repair, and I think the landlords could quickly fix that.
The accommodation at 143 Arlington Street is a three-storey building divided into small rooms. There is a shared bathroom on most of the floors, and a shared kitchen on the ground floor. The rooms are clean, small, comfortable enough, but not luxurious. My room had a free-standing AC/heating unit that was quite loud, but the steady white noise actually helped me sleep. The room is great value for money, with an emphasis on value, perfect if you just need a place to sleep and you intend to spend most of the day exploring Boston.

PolandThe bathroom was shared with 4 other rooms on the same floor. Upon arrival, the bathroom was in fact being repaired, so for two days 8 rooms shared the same bathroom. The door of the shared bathroom was not closing properly, and could be closed only by smashing it very strongly, which made it very noisy, especially in the middle of the night. Finally, even after the bathroom was repaired, only toilet and shower worked, but not the sink.

Germany-Very small/old room, - I just found 2 restrooms, you should share the restrooms, that's fine... -No front desk, but you can write them massage, that's fine, but I don't like that. -You can hear the aloud music, nice conversation and noisy outside clearly. You can't open the windows, because they use mobile air conditioning, the window should keep a certain space for the air conditioning.
It just a room, if you just find somewhere closed to city center, maybe you can choose this hotel, 200 dollar every night is a little expensive for this room, but in comparison to other hotels, it's still a lower price. Although I think this price is not worth. -Really good position, closed to the Arlington subway station - You also have air conditioning, fridge, microwave oven, cafe machine in the room
