This is the second time I stayed at Motel West. No complaints. The furniture is older as is the building otherwise this would be raring would be a 10.

I am rating it a 7 given the price, but a 7 at this price comes with some less desirable qualities. Because it's one of the cheapest motels in the area, it seems to attract a particular crowd. There were a few junky cars and people who looked like they were not having a good life. I saw several smokers ignoring the signs saying they needed to be 20 feet away from the building (smoking in front of their room or on the balcony). Bring earplugs because there is noise from neighbors, and the plumbing is very noisy too. My neighbor decided to take a shower at midnight and the water noise woke me up. Not in a walkable neighborhood. You have to cross busy roads to get anywhere.

Good value, convenient location. Some highway and train noise but not too bad from my room. Brightly lit parking lot. If low price is your top priority this is a good bet, although you might look at the hostel nearby if you don't mind sharing a room.

Very comfortable bed. Within walking distance to downtown and nice restaurants and breweries, however immediate neighborhood might be a bit intimidating. I am OK with it. Proximity to many attractions supercedes off putting 2nd Ave

Very friendly staff at check in. I've stayed here multiple times now when I come to ski solo. It is clean, quiet, and a short walk to the downtown area. I think only 10 mins to deschuttes brewing.

The WiFi did not work properly all week. The signal was so poor that the Digital HDTV Smart TV had no picture all week because lack of WiFi. The Analog cable TV signal was also weak so all those channels were fuzzy.

They made me give them a $50 deposit when I checked in, recomended cash, and wouldn't give it back until they went and checked the room. Never had that happen before, ever. It made check out very slow and wierd.

Everything is great except the TV reception. They are on a digital system and there is not one channel that is crisp or clear. It does not cost that much to get HD reception. I did not know that digital only was actually available.

Comfortable bed, nice small refrigerator, good lighting, bathroom updated, clean and nicely appointed. plenty of parking, even for a 26foot box van.

Had to ask for a plug for the bathtub, management couldnt find one, but that maid hooked me up. Unfortunately the room they had was for a bigger group: three beds, so was a bit more cost than I'm used to there, but it was a busy weekend, so lucky to get that. And, even then, it was still cheap.

Wifi was a little wonky this time, but not the end of the world. The fridge was a bit noisy in the night.

My go-to place to stay in Bend. You can walk downtown. Relatively quiet: tucked in off the main street. Staff is always nice. Comfy bed. This room had a kickass bathtub.

My go-to place to stay in Bend. Cheap price without being a cheap place. Six block walk from downtown. Reasonably quiet: it's tucked in away from the main street. Staff is always great. I liked this room because it had an awesome bathtub, but not all rooms do.
