Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The room was nicely decorated with some appreciated features. The panoramic view from the deck was incredible! There were many nice public spaces and beautiful plantings on the grounds.

IrelandAn option for evening meals would be nice, given the remote location. There is a restaurant 3 miles away, which served good food.
David and Ginger are very welcoming hosts. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean. The view from the balcony is incredible, looking right over the Blue Ridge Mountains

United States of AmericaThe one and only drawback was the breakfast. The photo of the breakfast on the site isn’t like the one offered. We wanted more hot options.
The property was very nice. The views were breathtaking. The site was maintained very well.

United States of AmericaWe needed an additional towel rack closer to the shower/bath combo. There was just one shelf in the bathroom for my wife's hair products and makeup and our toothbrush/toothpaste.
Our bed was very comfortable and our room was clean. The views from the Lodge were beautiful with plenty of places to gather. Continental breakfast was decent. Drip coffee was excellent (Keurig was also available but we prefer drip). The hosts were friendly and accommodating.

United States of AmericaIt wasn't a big deal, but a foot path from the building with some of the rooms to the main lodge might be helpful.
Beautiful view, great owners, and everything was clean. The lodge looked like a great log cabin. We didn't use the deck, but there's clearly enough room to host a party.

United States of AmericaThe property was as described.
Drop dead gorgeous view from this mountain top lodge when it is clear. If it’s raining or foggy no view but the setting is so serene it has its own beauty at this time. Very comfortable beds, quiet setting. Hosts Ginger and David couldn’t be more accommodating. Example: David volunteered to drive off the mountain to pick up takeout on a very foggy night . Our names were remembered on first pass and we were greeted by them each morning of our stay.

United States of AmericaThe only thing was that our room did not fit the ads description. No balcony or private entrance and I would call it a room not a suite!

United States of AmericaWhile a nice continental breakfast was served, there was no restaurant on site for evening meals. The upside of this is that we found a lovely restaurant not too far away (The Treehouse) which had excellent food.
Bent Mountain Lodge has an extraordinary view of the surrounding land and valley below. I loved the large wrap around porch, as well as the large windows through which we could view the mountains. There were plenty of delightful spaces to hide away for one’s own solitude, as well as large common areas in which people gathered for meals and laughter. The lodge was very comfortable and our hosts, David and Ginger, couldn’t have been more gracious. If you want somewhere to “unplug”, this is the place to be.

United States of AmericaWould've liked to have had a waistband for pet waste. Would have liked to have had some glassware and dinner wear/ utensils in the common kitchen for the cabins.
The views of the hills were spectacular from the outdoor seating areas. They have laundry, facilities, and toiletries if need be.

United States of AmericaWhat a gem! Our family of two adults, one infant, and two pups loved our stay. The lodge is exceptionally cozy, it really feels like home and we could have stayed much longer. The owners are incredibly kind and accommodating, we really enjoyed chatting with them at breakfast. We were able to charge our electric car no problem. The room was large and comfortable, the lodge itself is modern but cozy. We had crummy weather so I can't comment on the views but we will be back to see them another time! Well worth a weekend getaway from any of the urban areas around, including the 4 hour drive from DC.
