Our room faced I80 which is very close. The noise was not pleasant. The window had no shade or blackout curtain so the room was lit all night by outdoor lights and freeway traffic. Parking is very tight.

The only complaint common to many hotels is that the electric outlets that are part of the wall sconces by the bed or part of the lamps on the desk are worthless. Typically they never work or are very loose and intermittent. They should at least place a tag indicating non-functional or at best have someone repair or replace them.

The breakfast bar is excellent with many selections! The ladies who care for it keep it clean and organized very well. The room was clean and neat. The bathroom was clean and neat as well as all the plumbing worked well. It has been a consistently great place to stay for those reasons and because it is close to our family in La Mesa.

Nothing too negative to say other than our room key was deactivated twice while we stayed there and it was inconvenient to have to go to our room, then back down to the desk because our key wouldn’t work…. happened twice in our 5 day stay. (Plus there was only decaf coffee in our room, would’ve liked a few regular options.)

The Continental breakfast room, gym, and parking were great, the lobby was nicely decorated for the holidays and the staff was ready to help with any needs.

I had an unpleasant encounter with one of the desk clerks. The ice machine on our floor was not working. On the second day I reported it to the desk. Me: “you do know the ice machine on the second floor is not working. Clerk: “there is no need to be rude maam”. I walked away and did not respond. When I checked out he was the clerk on duty. Me: “I’m sorry you thought I was being rude the other day. That was not my intention, but I was offended by your comment. “ He launched into why he acted that way. He said I barged in front of another customer which I can say I was totally not aware of. He Totally ignored my apology and continued to tell me how rude I was. I Wasn’t really looking for an apology from him, but in my experience he didn’t really hear me or have an interest in agreeing it was an unpleasant conversation and part on friendlier terms. We have stayed there several times but not sure I’m comfortable staying there again. The ice was fixed before we left.

I like that if I want breakfast, I can go and get it at the hotel instead of driving somewhere, it’s always clean, the food is good, and my coffee is ready when I want it in the morning, I love that, thank you. I love staying at best Western plus , they meet all my expectations of a hotel.

We reserved a room with a sofa bed, but didn’t get what we reserved. We had to settle for one cot when we needed two cots. We ended up sharing the bed. The cot also didn’t come with a blanket and a pillow. We supplied our own.

The room was clean and orderly. Service came everyday. Staff was pleasant.

I didn’t realize how close to the freeway the hotel is. So, there was loud traffic noise. Sadly, you can’t change that. And, I just happened to be in the closest room to the freeway at the end of the hotel.

The exceptionally nice front desk personnel. And the immaculately clean room. The breakfast was very good.
