Floor was visually clean but when my daughter walked around in her socks and we noticed the bottom of her socks became super dark and dirty. We then all just kept our shoes on in the room. The other thing that was slightly annoying was that breakfast was advertised as being included. We got up in the morning and walked to the main office (which was locked) trying to figure out where breakfast was because there was no information on this. With no luck we had to drive to get breakfast which cost about $50. When they messaged me back a bit later they let me know there were "vouchers" on the microwave. When I looked, there were 4 little square papers that said you could redeem one for a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich at a nearby restaurant. This detail would have been helpful to know. Because there was no Keurig or anything like that, we didn't think to look in the corner on a small microwave which was on top of a mini fridge for a breakfast coupon.

Room was clean for the most part and the ease of entrance via a code was convenient.

It took a long time for the room to warm up from 57 degrees. Then when I was ready to sleep, I set the heat to 58, and woke up to it at 69, which was not the temperature I had set it at. The shower was not super high pressure, but was fine. The fridge had a loud noise every time the compressor came on that woke me up.

The room was clean, spacious, not cluttered, and open. The decorations were pleasantly modern. The bed was comfortable.

There was a problem with the water --no cold running water. A phone call brought 'David' to check; he said they'd been working on plumbing in their recently renovated rooms. Within 30 minutes he had solved problem of cold water issue. However, there was a problem with drains; stopped up every time water was run, whether hot or cold. Appears corroded --perhaps too much lime in tap-water? Therefore, we did not attempt to take showers! Advertised, but NO breakfast was offered to us. 'Deluxe King Room also advertised as having microwave; NONE was there. only one chair in entire room, lamp at desk broken.

Location suited us since we were visiting grandchildren at Skidmore. I appreciated the king-sized bed, linens generous, very clean. Requested extra pillows -- not a problem, delivered inside 10 min. Birches is an 'old-style' motel newly renovated; obviously not finished yet. new owners trying very hard to make a go of it and we wish them good luck!

The owner was telling me that he had just renovated but there was already clearly damage or just cheep materials or items used... the bed frame made noise cuz it was just a metal platform, and the bathroom was tiny with a window without a shade or privacy frosting, the comforter already had stains, and whoever made the bed had turned it so the tag was by the pillow to try and hide the stains. You can tell that all they really did is put some new wall finishes up maybe replaced the furniture but the sink ... was a porcelain pedestal and where the bowl meets the stand there was a massive chip that I think someone tried to hide but literally missed half the chip... I was lucky and paid the price based on previous owners... obviously I don't know what it was before the improvements but the new owner tried to tell me how great it was now and the current rates... I would have been really really upset had I paid the current rates for that room.

The ease of entry with just a code, location was good for my needs, bed was decent.

It is a roadside motel - it's not a luxury Hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and conveniently located to the SPAC for a concert. Owner was onsite and very helpful - I would stay there again.

We had to call to get a blanket/duvet for our bed. The drain in the bathroom sink, slated for replacement, was very slow, something we reported to the owner. Even for Saratoga Springs in high season, it seemed pricey for the location and condition. The online check-in did not work for me; I had to call to complete the process.

The location served us well. The room was spacious and generally comfortable. The air conditioning was working well. We had a good chat with one of the co-owners the first morning. It was only 7 weeks earlier that they took possession and they have started to make improvements, but have much still to do.

There was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom, the hot water took a long time to get warm and didn’t get as hot as I would have liked. Had to ask for the breakfast coupons and they were left out in the rain on our door when we weren’t there. Bleach was left on the toilet and ruined some clothing. We did get a credit off our stay but I wish the staff had cleaned the bleach off. I think there are new owners as of this month (July). They have some learning to do.

The location was amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better location for the price. The place was also freshly painted which was nice. Self check in was easy and convenient.

Low lighting in rooms, no blankets on beds just a sheet, bathroom smelled like cat pee by the furnace. The bathroom window had no privacy shade. We also ran out of toilet paper on a one night stay.

the previous owner was not on the premises to give keys or great guests with questions. had to call them to find out what supposed to do or where to go. left pajama top in room and owner never called or emailed me back about it. property has since sold so hope there’s better support for guests

used this as a quick overnight stop, worked fine. liked having sink and fridge to handle drinks and leftovers while traveling through. simple motor court style but clean and quiet

Some difficulties checking in, no mirrors anywhere in the property, loud construction started in the property at 6 in the morning and kept us awake for the next couple of hours. However, the staff did allow us to check out a few hours late to make up for it.
