Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaFairly expensive( even for Chicago); conveniently close to lots of interesting things, but the neighborhood itself is not that pleasant. (Though it's fine, not scary or anything like that.)
Nice room, comfortable bed, historic building, convenient neighborhood

United States of AmericaThe bathroom, though quite spacious, was not adequately lighted. I had to go sit by the window to put on my makeup. Would be nice to have more lighting in there.
All the staff members were super friendly and helpful. Convenient location. It was very close to two L stops and several bus stops. We ate a few meals in Meli Cafe on the ground floor of the hotel and it was great, a little on the pricey side, but so is everything in Chicago. There is a little sandwich shop called Potbelly next door to the hotel, good for a quick, inexpensive salad or sandwich. The room and bathroom were quite large, especially for a big city hotel. We had a fridge, microwave, and safe in our room. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. Not your run of the mill hotel room; it had some character related to the history of the hotel and its neighborhood. Good value for the price. I would definitely stay there again.

United States of AmericaI wish the hotel had a breakfast option. While I was aware that they don't provide breakfast, I found there are not many breakfast places near the hotel (except the one right next to the hotel), so it was not convenient to find breakfast places outside of the hotel.
Overall, our experience in the hotel was great. It was excellent for the price. The staff were especially so nice. They were always responsive and helpful. The size of the room was good enough. The room was very clean. The location was fairly good enough and a walkable distance from all major tourist attractions. Also, it was easy to find the hotel, and I liked the fact that we could come directly from the ORD airport to the hotel by using the train. I'd definitely recommend this place. I liked the free coffee and teas provided on the first floor.

United States of AmericaThe street noise was a little loud early in the morning, but I guess that's to be expected in a city like this. TV didn't have a lot of features. No guide. But we weren't in the room much to watch TV. Expensive parking that we didn't use. Typical of the area. A strange, long name for the Blake Hotel : )
Spacious room, much larger than expected. Well appointed. Extremely friendly staff. Super concierge. Great location, not too far from BuckinghamFountain, several restaurants, and transportation stops. An interesting, historical building with local character. We appreciated the microwave and refrigerator in the room. There were also plenty of conveienr USB charging ports. Our room had a nice street view with a bay window. The decor seemed up to date and well-kept. The room was well lit with plenty of interesting lamps. The bed was large and comfortable. Dual sink in the roomy bathroom was wonderful.

We loved the location. It was walkable to the metro service, coffee houses, restaurants, tourist locations and Lake Michigan. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and spacious for a big city and the bed was comfortable.

United States of AmericaThe address listed for this hotel 500 Dearborn S street is actually wrong, and it’s Mel’s cafe. A bit confused apon arrival. The actual address to this hotel is 538 Dearborn S street next door. Change this to correct address so others who book this hotel can find it easy.

United States of AmericaThis is just a personal thing, but I can't stand hotel rooms that only have a rain shower head in the shower - when you don't want to get your hair wet, it makes for a very uncomfortable shower.
The location was brilliant - took the L in from O'Hare and walked to our rental car the next day - we easily walked everywhere we wanted to go. Bed was super comfortable as well.

This hotel has the best beds and pillows ever! After staying at the Blake we went to a 4-star hotel more pricey and I can say the Blake was a better option for a cheaper price! Very comfortable and spacious room, walk distance from important places in the Loop. Also has a restaurant attached to the hotel with great breakfast options
