BRING YOUR OWN WATER!!. The well water has a lot of sulfur apparently mixed in with it - takes some getting used to so just bring your own water.

We drove down from Dallas TX going the Hwy 67 via Hico Tx Route into Llano where we stopped at COOPERS BBQ to eat & take enough leftovers to tide us over. ***PLEASE NOTE: We stayed at this very same place in the very same cabin with the very same host in April 2021 during the Covid madness. ***DO NOT EXPECT A TV, CABLE OR ANY INTERNET - WE ALL NEED TO JUST PULL AWAY FROM THAT FALSITY & THIS PLACE IS WHERE TO DO DO!. Anyhoo - We met the neighborhood cat which we named Stickers (he gets all these soft stickers stuck in his fur from being outside wildcat) he is very affectionate, playful & quite a pleasure to ourselves host as a visitor!. We hiked Enchanted Rock, went to Barons Creek winery, Leroy’s for Tex-Mex BBQ, & then toured slowly the Willow City loop drive (Better to do it on a weekday then on the weekends because it’s bumper-to-bumper Packed & tempers flare - we didn’t have hardly anyone on the drive-through with us.). We stayed an extra day it was so nice!. We drove back to Llano stopped off back at Cooper’s & then took a different way back home (route 29) catching up with 35 which was a quicker route anyway.

The serenity of the place is amazing. The cottage was immaculate with all of the necessities for a weekend stay in TX wine country. Paul, the host, was phenomenal and very responsive. I would absolutely stay here again.

I’m pulling at strings here to find something negative, my only recommendation would be to have the grass mowed to better access the hot tub

The pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s a perfect (very large) cabin with phenomenal views. You can connect with nature or drive 10 mins to downtown Fredericksburg. Every cabin has their own private hot tub that is well maintained. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had.

The only (kinda) negative for me is that there was no TV. This was the part my husband loved. I had "drowned" my cell phone a few days before - without a phone or TV, I thought I would be bored. I ended up buying a sudoku and cross word book and enjoyed hours of sitting at the table on the porch listening to the birds.

First of all, Paul, the owner, met us at the cabin to showed us around and how to operate the hot tub. The cabin is much larger than I had expected and the view from the front porch was amazing. "Morning Sun" cabin sits on a hill over looking lush greenery and if you are a bird person - you will love their songs. There is an automatic deer feeder that releases corn every evening about 7:00pm and watch for the deer to show up for dinner! A great surprise is that there were snacks and drinks in the cabin. There were packaged breakfasts ( one serving instant oat mean, cereal abd such), juice and water in the frig and even coffee alonng with the fixings. We had a great very quiet and relaxing 4 day get away.

The only thing missing was a wine opener and the owner said he would bring us one but he probably got busy and forgot. We ended up buying one and just left it there for the next guest.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well kept this cottage was. I usually stay at the place right next to TWC winery but they were full (I'm a creature of habit) so I was forced to find something else because we were going to a concert and didn't want to miss it. I found this little gem and it will now be my go to when traveling to Fredericksburg.

I can’t think of much we didn’t like. Everything was great. You might want to put a trashcan in the kitchen, and you might want to put a smooth surface for walking from the back porch to the hot tub instead of stones.

We enjoyed the quiet solitude of the location. The bed was very comfortable, and the facility was warm and inviting.

Location was beautiful. Owner personally took time out of his day to explain the hot tub operation. Very quiet and peaceful. Only about 15 minutes from Main St. Will definitely be back 🙂

Everything was great! Everything was cleaned and looked just like the pictures. The hot tub was a plus! We really enjoyed sitting out side in the mornings taking in the beautiful view and watching the animals.

All aspects of the cottage were in great working condition. We had no issues.

The cottage is outside of Fredericksburg, off a main highway(87). There is a gate to gain entry to the property. The kitchen is nice, the shutters for the windows allow you to control the external light in all the rooms. The hot tub is private and good sized.
