We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Nothing we were satisfied with our stay
Ate at a local restaurant close to the hotel, the inn offers clean comfortable and affordable the atmosphere was friendly and safe. The pool was not available, but it was clean and filled , we would definitely recommend and return here again

The pool was closed. The door let all outside noises in. Very noisy. A/C noisy and not removing humidity.

Cleaners need to check the floors ,especially around the head of beds. Found trash,cups and a water bottle. The bathroom mirror wasn't clean.
I enjoy the comfort of the room. Ocean side is a great view. I've stayed here many times and will be back.

I didn’t know there was a breakfast there! I didn’t see it or any information on that. But we loved the convenience of being close to the beach and stores and restaurants in walking distance. Clean, quiet and comfortable-especially the king size bed! The only thing that I feel could be improved upon would be the water pressure in the shower. Other than that it was perfect and a great rate! Hope to stay again!

Parking lot can be tight especially if you have a big vehicle.

The pillows were very uncomfortable, I guess I could have brought my own though. There were crumbs on the fridge still and what looked like pizza sauce in the microwave. The floors also could’ve used a good vacuuming around the edges. But those are pretty minor things I think.
I liked the location and how parking was right outside the room.

The property is a bit dated, but clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent with several shops and restaurants in walking distance. It's also close to great beaches. It's definitely worthy of a return stay.

Water pressure in shower was very weak, cold water in tap very weak. Could use some weather stripping around main door. Could feel wind gusts come in around door, which made heat keep kicking on.

Great location, close to beach, Hatteras lighthouse and restaurants. Friendly staff, lots of space to park, fast WiFi. Rooms are standard motel style, somewhat worn, but the Hatteras Island Inn offers good value considering the location. Happy to come back!

The price-performance ratio for the stay was very good. The check-in was quick and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and in good condition. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.

The water wasn’t as hot as I would I have liked and it needs more water pressure. But it gets the job done and we enjoyed it!
It’s so peaceful and the staff is super friendly and respectful we love it!

No elevator for my husband, as I wanted to be on the second floor to get an ocean view. I would like to see lower prices for all off season months, because I would like to make this hotel my "go to place", as we like to come to Hatteras five or more times per year 4 to 7 nights per stay. Most rentals want you to book for a week and the prices are way too high since 2020. Cleaning fees on all home and condo rentals are ridiculous.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating. They treat you like family. Bed was super comfy. Room was clean and didn't smell old and damp, which most older places do, due to moisture from the ocean. Love the fact that new owners are making upgrades to the property and replacing worn items like coffee makers, microwaves. They also have a luggage lift for the 2nd floor guests. Washer and dryer for guests use and a nice pool. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Not commercialized like other beaches. They have grills for guest use.

You sank way down in the sofa. Maybe new owners will replace the sofa mattresses with thicker ones, along with newer microwaves and coffee makers, as they are remodeling .We put two pillows under the cushions and that solved the issue.
Bed was super comfy....plenty of hot water for showering. Towels and wash cloths were thick and soft. All desk clerks were welcoming and helpful. I love the fact that the entire Hatteras Island takes care of their homeless cats, including spaying and neutering. Some of the pool view rooms have nice ocean views. The new owners are remodeling and replacing worn furniture. They are showing that they care enough. Love the fact that No Dogs were allowed.

The property could use some real updating. The carpet was ripped and torn. Had some questionable spots on it. TV internet spotty and channels not clear. Overall price matched the expectations
