To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaOne of the main reasons I chose this hotel is because we used to restaurant and bar frequently during our previous stays , so I was very disappointed that there was no service on Sunday and also no offering for lunch at all. Also the mattress for our bed in our room was in need of replacement Room 424.
The staff were super friendly and having a sundry on property was very convenient. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and breakfast the morning of our departure

United States of AmericaThe room temperature was often very chilly in spite of the thermostat being set at 74 degrees. There was no blanket available in the room to supplement the bedspread and it was needed. The bath towels were placed in the bedroom area and not the bathroom itself; I didn't see them in the dark when I went to shower, so I had to use the hand towel to dry myself.
Convenient location, easy check in process. I asked for a quiet room and got one.
