United States of AmericaNothing really except that there doesn’t seem to be any recycling of bottles and paper. I think this is a St. Clairsville issue as there doesn’t seem to be any recycling capabilities.
Room was spacious and clean with a refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of closet space and drawers to unpack my belongings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to nearby restaurants. Free washer and dryer plus a small gym.

United States of AmericaRoom did not have a pleasant smell. and seemed...wet. Couldn't place this feeling. The desk furniture was broken and rocked as if it was going to fall over, several points in shelving were split. I believe an adhesive hook had fallen off of wall near shower and ripped the paint off. The bath mat when picked up came up very dark indicating the floor wasn't very clean. Hallways did not look like they had been vacuumed and the walls were scuffed. I had stayed here because the last Candlewood Suites I had stayed at in Ohio was a nice experience. That one even had a simple, but decent breakfast. This one, did not. Complimentary popcorn was in one room but not the other.
Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was great. A/C worked great. Having a refrigerator, microwave, and stove in room was very nice. Parking was very convenient. Free coffee is always a plus and the machine that delivered it in the lobby was nice.

United States of AmericaI booked a room with two queen beds six weeks in advance and added a night two weeks in advance. Both times I got a confirmation email from the hotel. Upon arrival they told me my room had been changed to a one queen bed room, and that my rate was the same. How is that even possible? I understand that oftentimes the person dealing with the problem is not the one responsible for or even has any power to change the problem, so I was trying to calm and collected. I was traveling with my 17 year old son for a baseball tournament, we needed two beds. She said there were no rooms with two beds, or even one king size bed available, for the rest of the weekend (this was a Wednesday night). I asked to speak with a manager, she said one would be available in the morning, which seems odd for a hotel to me. She did say she could take some money off my room for that night (I would hope I wouldn’t be paying the price for a double, while sleeping in a single bed room). In the morning, I talked with the manager on duty and low and behold, a room with 2 beds was becoming available for me that day. I was never given an apology, they acted like I was the problem. Upon checkout, I noticed a charge from the marketplace in the lobby to my room. The person at the desk said that someone had charged something to my room. I had, but not the particular charge I was disputing. Again, the front desk person acted like the problem was me. Upon further insistence, she located the two slips which had orders placed to my room, one was mine, which I claimed, and the other was clearly not. I felt like these people are not trained well and are left to figure things out on their own, leaving customers to face the fallout. A little ownership for a mistake, an apology, and an effort to make it up to a customer would go a long way, but I got none of those.

United States of AmericaThe pool (reason we chose this hotel was pool for our 7 year old) outdoors we could not use because there were a large group of men and some women sitting outside around the pool smoking and cussing. They live in the hotel which has rooms with kitchens. Every time we went down they were always there. It created a not nice environment and made it so we couldn’t use the pool.
Hotel was clean and nice. Room was nice. Spacious. Clean.
