Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandRoom was spacious as we were a family, and our two teenage boys are adult size. Kitchenette was a nice bonus, big fridge, cooker & Microwave. Bathroom spotless. Room for luggage and hanging coats. Big smart tv. Location was excellent, metro (from the airport) was around 250 metres to hotel. All attractions were all around us, so easy to walk to. Bicycles were available to use, but it was first come first serve. Staff were a credit to the hotel, all helpful and informative of area. All day coffee in reception area. If back again in Washington we will return.

SwitzerlandThe windows could not be opened, which felt claustrophobic. Breakfast was very crowded with limited options.
Great quiet neighborhood surrounded by restaurants. Just 2 blocks walking distance from Capitol South metro station. The staff working here were the real highlight. Very friendly and kind people. The kitchenette was equipped with a sink, microwave, mini-fridge and coffeemaker.

United States of AmericaBreakfast area was cramped, and the food was consistent with budget hotel breakfast offerings although we were charged a mandatory amenity fee which included the breakfast. They should do a true continental breakfast of yogurt, fruit, croissants, and coffee/tea/juice which would impress everyone. Otherwise, the place is excellent.
Location was fantastic. Easy walking around the Capitol area. Quiet street. Staff were amazing and I felt very welcomed. Room was very comfortable. Nice mattress, and very clean.

CanadaThe breakfast was awful and I did not like that it was an extra and exorbitant mandatory $25/day charge. We went once during our stay and left immediately. (The café around the corner was excellent, and less expensive.) Why was there only one bathrobe when there were 2 of us in the room?
The room was comfortable and spacious. The staff we encountered were terrific and very helpful. The location was perfect for our needs this trip.

United KingdomThe was rather dark as there was no central ceiling light and the wall lights were very dim. Had to use the bathroom for putting makeup on. Bathroom was quite small too. Not many places to eat close by in the evening which was a disappointment.
Perfect location for all the sightseeing and excellent car parking facilities although we had to pay an additional $50/night which was worth it. Lovely sitting area downstairs where there were 24hr drinks available. Breakfast was very good, and excellent selection of hot and cold items and the concierge team were exceptional - nothing was too much trouble. this wasnt the original hotel we booked, but we were glad that we changed out mind and stayed at the Capitol Hill Hotel.

United KingdomA couple of minor points; the breakfast was good but a bit basic - no semi-skimmed milk - just full fat or skimmed, or little pods of half&half. The 3 hot items (scrambled egg/a potato veg mix/sausage - which were fine) could have been changed every couple of days for variety. There was oatmeal but nowhere to heat milk for it. The selection of breakfast cereals was very limited but there were flavoured yogurts and a good variety of bread.
Stunning location less than 10 min walk to the Capitol, a 3 min walk to a couple of reasonably priced restaurants and 2 min to Capitol South metro. We stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite on the 4th floor which was large with a good shower and small dressing room area. As it was mid October we didn't need the heating or air-con so turned it off which kept the room quiet. Being able to help ourselves to all day teas/coffee/water in a quiet area was a great bonus. Staff were very helpful and it's a quiet residential area with little traffic.

United States of AmericaThe lock on the door had the screws coming out and did not feel secure. The AC Unit would not allow the fan to stay on at night which I use for white noise. Also, the oven set off the Fire Alarm at 5:30 in the morning and that was not a good thing and very disruptive. The breakfast room was way to small for the number of guests and food ran out such as bagels and were not replenished. The selections could have been better.
The staff and location were fantastic!!! The room was comfortable and clean

I really like this hotel especially for the location it's just 15 mins from Union station behind Capitol. Also it's very convenient if you need to go to Dulles International Airport - South Capitol station is just 5 mins from hotel and it goes straight to the airport (cca 50 mins). We have option with breakfast which was quite fine (eggs, bread, yogurt and cereals). There are not that many options for eating in that area (or at least we haven't find the right street :) So I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the center and need to get everywhere quickly.
