The morning fare was limited to refined, sugary carbs. It would be nice to have some fresh, whole grain bread and butter with jam. I liked the coffee machine in the kitchen and in the room, but it would be nice to have more selection and higher quality coffee. I ended up making my own drip coffee which I brought with me just in case. Upon tasting the coffee provided. Also- a nice touch would be to provide real half amd half in the fridge instead of the little single portion “half and half” cups that don’t require refridgeration. Taste is totally different.

Historical building beautifully furnished with period pieces and artful comfy nooks amd corners. Photos from the history of the bldg and people who inhabited it. Lovely views, quiet, surrounded by nature. I felt safe and pampered in the comforts of my accommodation.

The location and positioning of the room was perfect. Very relaxing. Half the day we would just sit, read a book and enjoy the view.

It is very difficult to adjust the temperature of the water in the bathtub and the water is a little old. It is a waste of time waiting for the water. Apart from that, it would be great if the room had a mini bar and I think there should not be a shower area.

The location is very nice, it is a fairytale place, the view is wonderful, it is a good idea to have a bathtub in the room.

The view from our window. Lovely setting. Great little coffee maker in our room and refrigerator available in main house. No breakfast. Great choice to explore the Elkhorn Slough or a whale watch tour. Birders would love this place. Excellent fish and chips a restaurant with blue roof on the north end of town.

The only thing that wasn’t great was the too-firm mattress. I don’t recall that being the case on previous stays, so maybe it’s just the particular room.

Captain’s Inn is our favorite place to stay when we visit Moss Landing. It’s super convenient for us as we enjoy the wildlife photography opportunities in the area. The room is charming and quiet with a lovely view of the Salinas River!

Moss Landing seems to be an area under transition, so there is a lot of variety here. There are some good restaurants very near by and also some unoccupied old buildings. The nearby harbor has boats of every description and every condition. The decor of this property well reflects the nautical history of the area. We really liked Moss Landing for these reasons. The nearby Elkhorn Slough Reserve is a treasure and we really recommend going there. It was the reason for our visit. BTW we watched Sea Otters from our room—get a river view unit!

Very cool but beds are up really high in the rooms we stayed in, mounted on top of a boat. I fell off and hurt myself. The first room had its bath in the bedroom, great if you’re with your misses…. Not so with your 14 year old daughter. Cool place though and quirky.

Wonderful colonial style inn right next to the beach behind the sand dunes. Everything is extremely nice and well organised, rooms were spotless clean, beds comfortable. We loved our fireplace and we enjoyed the common room even more. Everything is sailing/shipping themed, we loved it so much.
