We needed salt for our room. My neice went down to the front desk and was told she could only have two packets of salt. TWO! No more... Two... Packets of SALT.... Never new a hotel to be so stingy. We could hear water flowing in the pipes when the toilet above our room was flushed.

Our room faced the street. The noise from the bar across the street was terrible on Friday and Saturday night. I heard from the staff that even though the police are called often, the bar just pays a fine and never lowers the noise after 10. This is ridiculous. The fine needs to be more to make them take it serious.

Location was great. Loved the outdoor area. Wished the weather had been nicer - would have used the pool more. Appreciated extras like 🍹 Monday, etc.

The room was getting a little outdated, and could use a refresh in a few places. It also seemed like they decided to strip down the old kitchenette, so it didn't have a sink or any kind of equipment (silverware, glasses, etc.)

We loved the location - right across the street from the beach and easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the center of the village. The room was large and the hotel had lots of amenities, including beach gear if you needed it.

The rooms are very outdated and the bed was not very comfortable. The room could have been cleaner especially with COVID. Doorknobs and light switches etc. were not clean.

The grounds were nice as was the location.

Beautiful Property, with wonderful views and beach access. Close to many delicious restaurants and cute shops. Room was nice and Spacious welcoming staff. We ended up staying an extra night

There was a lot of construction going on. Also it would have been nicer if there was not carpet in the room where the dining table was. As someone with little kids I felt bad because when they eat crumbs go everywhere and I couldn’t really sweep it up because of the carpet.

Great location!! A quick walk to the beach. Lots of dining within walking distance. The outdoor pool was heated just enough to make the water enjoyable. The activity center has everything you need. Loved the extra touches like a bag of microwave popcorn in the room. It was a great spot for families and I would definitely come back.

the communication between cleaning crew, staff and manager. when we checked in we were given a room # and keys. we walked in on a family! went back to the desk. got it figured out. settled in our room and then about 2 hours later a family came walking in our suite. then a cleaning lady, and another cleaning lady couple minutes later. my dad went to the desk to speak to a manager. he was not available so he left a message with the gentleman at the counter to have the manager call him, and we still haven’t heard from the manager and we’ve been long gone..that was 2 months ago.

the convenience of location, right in the heart of Carlsbad. you literally never have to get in your car once you check it! open and spacious property. right on the beach. they supply everything you need for the beach!

At check in they couldn't find my reservation because they flipped the order of my first and last name which caused me stress for a few minutes. It was just odd that the computer system wouldn't pick up my name right away regardless of the order it was put in. I also heard it happen to someone else as I walked by the next day. There was some cosmetic things that needed attention on the property but other than that everything was good.

Loved the area and how close it was to the beach! The room was nice a spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was a bonus to be able to use the bikes, and beach gear for no extra charge.

We were on the first floor at the very end and there was so much outside noise from the street, cars, and people.

to get to the beach you have to descend about 50 steps(could be more) and then you have to ascend them with your beach gear. when I called before our stay I told the front desk that we can’t do steps, so we need the first floor( construction so you had to walk up a flight to get to the third floor.) at that point she might have mentioned the steps to the beach. ugh we would have made other arrangements. another incident : I called the front desk at one point to ask about guest services, she couldn’t answer me so she put me on hold an eventually hung up on me! very unprofessional and rude if you ask me. these people should be given a course in customer service!

the bed was very comfortable and the town is very quaint. restaurants all around

Unfortunately they were doing renovations at the side of the property we were staying. We informed them that we would be trying to work from the room and asked how loud it would be. We were informed that it wouldn’t be too loud. I expect some noise but not jackhammering above us. it was very loud at times. We also called them asking about the WiFi because the WiFi was inconsistent and constantly disconnecting. However, they made it sound like it was our fault rather than trying to address the issue. While I was in the lobby I overheard them discussing how they were having internet problems for their staff as well. I would have preferred them tell us that they were having problems and they were contacting the provider rather than trying to make it seem like it was our fault and we had too many devices (only one) connected.

the property is a great location and a beautiful setting.

The room needs an upgrade. The slider screen kept coming off the tracks, lots of painting chipping and peeling at slider door area. No instructions on how to use the safe, so I got it locked and had to have maintenance come and open. He stated that oh, yes there is usually an instruction sticker on the front of the safe (that wasn't there). There were no instructions on how to use Jacuzzi bathtub and it didn't work.

The view and balcony were awesome. the bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful
