Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Out of everything I consider a necessity in a room, they only had towels, toilet paper, soap bars, and plastic glasses. I loved that they had comfy seats for reading and having breakfast, however since there were no kettle, microwave, or a fridge, I had to go buy breakfast elsewhere. They do say on the website that it's not available though so it was my mistake. I didn't check on that before checking in. The bed was Ok, but I felt sore in the morning. The material was pretty flat and was scratching my skin. It was pretty loud outside from other guests and cars driving by. The hotel did fulfill the purpose of getting some sleep but I was restless most of the night. Just FYI.
The staff was friendly, the facilities were clean, they had plenty of parking space in the back. I can tell the staff cares about the guests and the place is well-maintained. Everything in the room was working. They had a TV in case you wonder:)

There isn't any microwave or refrigerators anymore this used to be a Motel 6 and they have hair dryers shampoo and microwave refrigerators all the stuff you need to you know feel at home. I believe that's what Carlsbad Village inn is they're missing.
I got to my room (i had an e early check in. I was just settling in and I look down and I had ants on me. I'm getting it to the office and ask for some bug spray and the front desk person said no we'll just get you another room I said really she said yes! So she gave me a new room actually getting me a step up in the room so that was good and I'm still here.

location was perfect for us. we were pleasantly surprised that the beds and bedding were more than adequate. the bathroom, however looked filthy because of the stained grout. there was no room to set out toiletries. maybe because it was a room for handicapped individuals? anyway, we felt safe, the beds were very good, and the climate control was quiet.

No coffee maker, no blow dryer, no microwave. Only basics, bed, TV, and mini fridge.

Check out was at 11am, and I checked out at 1120am. I was charged $20 out of my $50 deposit for checking out 20 minutes late. I wasn't informed of this information beforehand. This must be the scheme of how the "Inn" makes extra money.
Room was clean and quiet. Location was good.

side night stand was never wiped from prior guests was food crumbs on there ,also noticed many cockroaches running around the entire room and finally at check out my misunderstanding of the checkout time at 11;00 was I thought I had to be out of the room itself at 11:00 which I was I then proceeded to load my vehicle with my luggage and belongings so by the time I got to the front desk to retrieve my deposit the counter clerk did not want to agree 100 % in my misunderstanding of the check out time and charged me 1/2 of my deposit .

They ask for a $50. Deposit. If you pay cash you can only get the deposit back between 11am and 3pm. This often conflicts with s hedules.

Sink water had low pressure. The A/C was partially broken. The light for the bathroom and shower was in another room, which I thought was odd, and the bathroom door was hard to close, it didn't even lock. I booked through Booking.com, but had to pay at the hotel and on top of that there was a deposit which kinda irked me.
Freeway access is close by so that's good. Beds were clean, good TV, good shower, plenty of towels and cups. Excellent service at the front desk.
