Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe Lyle is a beautiful boutique hotel. The room was a bit small but I was traveling solo so it wasn’t a problem. I loved the decor and layout of the room and bathroom - it felt very European. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious.

United States of AmericaI did not like the mandatory facility fee as I did not use $25 worth of coffee, water or gym facilities. This is on the high end of what I am willing to spend for a hotel. I would call the stay exceptional, with all possible stars, but for the expense. The bill aside, I would be very happy to return.
The bed was great! The bathroom was very clean and bright and inviting. Parking on the street was easy and free (it was a weekend) and the hotel felt upscale and very comfortable. Staff were very lovely.

United States of AmericaThe only complaint is lack of storage in the room. We had a fantastic corner room, but despite its size, there's was little closed storage.
Our stay at The Lyle was fantastic. The property is gorgeous, staff are friendly, the food is delicious. It feels like an oasis. The hotel is located in a lovely part of NW DC, making it walkable to many different areas. We really enjoyed the restaurant (our second visit in two years) and the gym, which was empty and well equipped.

IndiaThe lobby is not very exciting and can definitely need some work. The number of facilities seemed to be on the lower side.
The location is excellent and you can walk to most major locations and attractions. Good neighbourhood and also good options to eat nearby. The room was excellent and the bed was really nice. Overall a very comfortable stay with nice amenities and a clean hotel.

CanadaWe reported on the first day that the reclining bike in the gym was not working properly and it was not fixed during our stay.
This was our 2nd stay at the Lyle, the first though Booking.com. The hotel is perfect for a weekend getaway in DC - within a short walk from great cafes, restaurants, the Sunday Dupont Circle Farmers Market, subway and more! The rooms are large and comfortable, the fitness center perfectly adequate for a quick workout, and the staff are lovely. It is now our go-to hotel in DC!

IrelandCoffee at breakfast not great…and tried them all! Nespresso in bedroom excellent tho and lots of pods left for us.
Friendly staff, very clean rooms, most comfortable bedding. Lovely girl at reception facilitated late checkout and extra Lyle tote bag! Miraslava didn’t have to ask our drinks order from 2nd day and would sort as soon as we went into bar.

United KingdomDidn’t find reception staff particularly warm - they were efficient but not all that friendly. And was surprised I had to ask to be on the same floor as my teenagers (initial allocation had us on separate floors)
Great location in a really lovely residential area - very quiet and easy to walk/bike from the Lyle. The beds were extremely comfortable and great water pressure in shower. The kitchenette king room had a good layout and plenty of space with better bathroom layout compared to the double rooms. I’d happily stay here again.

United States of AmericaI couldn't tell if the bottled water in the room was complementary or considered part of the mini-bar. I cannot think of anything else I did not like about my stay at this hotel.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. It's in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the Convention Center. I did not eat in the restaurant so no comment but there were great restaurants nearby.

United States of AmericaOverall, the room is a little too small for the value as well as the bathroom.
Comfortable beds, nice decoration and equipment, room prepped with care, the view on the city from 7th floor room, welcoming attitude from the staff at the door, super calm room while there were lot of people from a wedding in the hotel.

CanadaThe Rooms need to have some storage. Also maybe the description of the rooms should include the square footage. I got a good deal compare to current prices but I feel it is overprice for what you get. That said the bed was super comfortable but i ran out of places to put the pillows. I also see a double charge of an amount from the restaurant
