We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United States of AmericaRose at the front desk. She was awful. Didn't even say hello to me when I walked in. My room was turned when I put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, and she said when she dropped off breakfast it had been on MAID SERVICE. No, it wasn't. No accountability. Here, the customer isn't right, the dumb front desk loser is. If you're ok sleeping on a cement bed, showering in a dirty dump, and leaving your valuables in a place where who knows who is going through your room, go for it. The Rooms: Found a clump of hair on the floor, lipstick on cups, the coffee was opened. Gross, gross, gross. She did upgrade me when I complained. But then my room was disturbed. This is a hit-and-run place where they get your money the first time because no one ever comes back. BEWARE.
Being in Carmel-by-the-Sea, it's hard to be upset.

Location was good. Right in the center of Carmel. It was the lowest price available but we booked late. My key was demagnetized but the clerk gave me a new one right away even though it was after midnight.

United States of AmericaLimited parking (16 spots) for 20+ rooms. Dark room with outside window facing bldg next door (about 5 ft away). Some rooms have windows facing walkway/parking. Dated furnishings, tiny bath amenities (soap bars, shampoo). Noisy upstairs neighbor. Sloppy housekeeping (picking up dirty towels but not making up beds). More charming inns/ hotels in the area.
Close to restaurants and shops. Cheapest motel for rennsport weekend (3 nights for $1,100).

United States of AmericaThe bed and the tv. Sheets were paper thin and the fitted sheet was poorly fitted ( it kept slipping off the mattress). The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. The tv didn’t get any local stations. We came in late one night and had a very difficult time parking out compact car into the two remaining spots that were available. The breakfast had old fruit, pre packaged pastries and was not very appetizing. Don’t think we’ll be going back to stay.

United States of AmericaThe carpets are filthy and need to be replaced. The place has very old furniture and mismatched old dated decor. The room was so narrow there were no nightstands and two people couldn’t access the bed properly. No AC and it was hot.
Only the location was good. The place is a dump.

I like the room design, so old world... spacious bathroom with nice and colorful toiletries... Breakfast in the basket reminded me of hotels in Glastonbury...boiled eggs and bread could have made it a complete breakfast...and they should be delivered earlier than 8 to 8:30..so close to bus stop, so going to Monterey is easy....the front desk people were so helpful and easy to deal with

United States of AmericaTerrible experience with unruly neighbor; cleanliness of room just so-so (found pair of dirty socks on carpet) very tight quarters for three of us adults; very little room for clothes and accessories; beds soft and unsupportive; parking spaces tiny when most guests were driving SUV’s ; coke machine was not working; and tv cabinet had broken door.
